Some of the views of Birmingham fans are so arrogant on twitter. They are literally already celebrating promotion. Me thinks they are in for a mighty shock. League 1 is a slog i think they'll struggle. their only real good player is bacuna and he'll be off in the summer along with a few others. team has no spine and a weak mentality that will see them struggle imo. Could be right, but if Mowbray makes a full recovery, he’ll have them back up no problem - he had reversed their Rooney plummet and would have kept them up but for his illness.

JCH signed for Rotherham. Sounds strange, but what do I know about his ambitions and/or wages? Nada.

Manager is a stressful job, and when u get tin in age it a medical nightmare just around corner. If u got enough ched saved up , just pack it in and maybe volunteer at something to give back and fill some time.

Hope he’s ok but this sounds like he’s still not great Good for him, did the honourable thing. Imagine he’s getting good care, but that his recuperation after (major?) surgery will take months. Best of luck to him for his recovery.

Strange decision. A shag to get to every day if most of their players live anywhere near High Wycombe.

Jesus Christ every time I go on Twitter Birmingham are announcing another signing. They have literally changed whole team. No FFP in lower leagues? No FFP, but instead they have SCMP. It is a salary cap based on income. Full explanation here: www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/financial-fair-play-you-need-888037As it is income and not profit based, owners can inject limitless cash investment if they wish to (all counts as income)- and Birmingham's owners are throwing in cash. Player sales are pure income (no adjustment for book value etc.). The problem can come though if when promoted they made a huge loss to get there, that year is a year of their FFP calculation, back in the Championship. They may also be promoted with high wages etc so may be making uncontrollable losses. Still, Ipswich managed it!

This is one of the things that I find frustrating and difficult to understand or accept. The PL have one set of rules then the EFL have totally different rules depending on which division a team is in. The PL unfortunately will always be a rule to themselves but the 3 sets of different rules, apart from being inconsistent, actually create some of the financial problems clubs face as they are promoted or relegated and have to adapt to a different way of running the club financially which obviously impacts the number and quality of players they can hire.

Lyndon Dykes' (alleged) status as the highest paid player in League One could be under threat - as could his presumed starting place in the team.
Brum are reported to have offered £10m for Fulham striker Jay Stanfield.
Initial offer apparently rejected, will they be back in with a bigger one?
But where does a League One side find £10m+ (on top of £14m already spent on transfers this Summer ffs!?
Is there no FFP in the lower leagues?

Would be fucking brilliant if they didn’t come straight back up .

Below the championship they don't have FFP as we do, so whilst there are rules they can splurge more than we can.

Stand to be corrected but I thought it doesn't count while they are out of the Championship but then after their first year in the Championship the EFL will assess their last three year's spend (including the year in Brum's case when they will be out of the Championship) and then they have to conform to the same limits as everyone else in our division. So seeing as their aim is to get promoted I don't understand how they think they can get away with this?
