See Mark Hughes screwed up automatic promotion last night with Bradford and kicked off with Crewe player at the end.

Notts County v Boreham Wood National League Semi Final 2-2 in extra time.
Notts County finished 35 points ahead of Boreham Wood. It's a joke they have to play off.

I would not be against binning play offs. on one hand its stupid that teams miss out on promotion to another team that finished below them but at the same time it does stop a monopoly of sorts forming where the recently relegated clubs dominate everything. it should be amended though like in notts county's case. i think in belgium they have a rule that if 'x' club finishes a certain number of points above their nearest playoff rival that they then go up automatically.

The last time Wigan went into administration they lost plenty of their talented youngsters.
The best player I’ve ever seen in a U21 game was 18yr old Charlie Hughes a CB at Wigan.

We are on course to be a Reading. No future as it stands even with the new fancy training ground that produces the same poor product we've seen year after year. Our desperate straits are underlined by the creche on the bench every week and no prospect of changing our downward slide. Charlton here we come.

How can you write off potential impact of new training facility when it’s not even been open 12months cricks?

Not sure, but I think we’re keeping our heads above water in terms of the general finances.
And I doubt our owners would, a) not allow wages to to be paid on time and b) not stump up a deposit to cover wages if demanded by the EFL.
The new training ground has been open a matter of weeks - pretty ridiculous to say it’s having no effect on young players. Ask that in two or three years time.
acricketer, you definitely win today’s Grumpy Old Man award…

I don't think we're anywhere near Reading's situation. Last season was shambolic and we started this one in the same vein. But despite my strong misgivings re. Ainsworth, he's bought astutely and through a mixture of luck, nous and determination, he seems to have steadied the ship. The same applies to our finances; with the board finally adopting a purely pragmatic approach we should avoid any FFP issues and (potentially) create a platform to rebuild. We're not out of the woods, but we've got a fighting chance.

Neil Harris sacked by Gillingham. Jesus. 1 point from automatic place. Apparently for lack of goals. Wonder if they fancy Ainsworth?
