I'd say Ainsworth would be odds-on favourite to be first Championship manager sacked next season, but the fact that the club is hamstrung by FFP means they'll probably have to keep him, come what may..... |

Yeah what Croyds says. Our first run out, against regulars in European football who are already 4 games into their pre season. Only gripe I have about it all is Salter being made of glass.

Yes of course mate, under normal circumstances I'd fully agree with you, but this is more about a gut feeling of foreboding that I can't ignore! i have a feeling we're going to surprise a few people tbh. if gaz is able to develop the culture he wants at the club with players who're proud to be here then it could work out really well for us. he's unorthodox as fuck but he does come across as the kind of guy you'd love to work for and would go the extra mile for. from the highlight videos and stuff the club puts out they all seem to be really enjoying themselves and building a real togetherness. there's a lot of players who won't come here because of gaz for sure, but there's a lot of teams that underestimate him too. what he achieved with wycombe with their team was nothing short of exceptional. if he could do the same with us but at a higher level then i'm all for it, he just needs to be given time and for people to get off his back over losing to slavia prague. we know we're hit hard from FFP but we have 3m in the bank from recent sales plus a big chunk of wages freed up too. a few more will undoubtedly leave but it'll be interesting to see who we bring in. there are 1 or 2 at wycombe that would probably do well for us like their keeper and that forino guy. |

Well it makes a change for me to start the season with such low expectations; at least that means I'll either be pleasantly surprised if old Wild Thing turns this sorry bunch of losers into a half decent unit, or I'll be like meh, it's as bad as I thought it would be.
Funny thing is that before GA was actually appointed as manager, I was a cheerleader for him in that role, for very much the reasons of hope and expectation that Corbs outlines above. The difference now is that having seen his version of Rangers in reality, the rose-tinted specs have come off.

I watched the game on a stream, Sparta Prague didn’t particularly impress me other than in one passing sequence involving 4 or 5 of their players.
They came runners up in their league last season with 130+ points, which immediately makes me think it’s a skewered league like the SPL.
