I get that’s where half the world outside Europe get horny for but it’s just killing the joy of the game for me. That’s all you hear about. It’s as if there was rugby then premier league and 100 plus years of history before just don’t exist. It’s all about getting in that fat cash pig of a league. I hate the fans in it, a lot of plastic cants who look down on anything else in their fucking hero shirts. Or am I doing a General?

In fact i thought Guardiola had joined Sky as a presenter.

Agree with the sentiment but I have to say I think watching City when they are on it is fantastic. Their tactics and technical skills are brilliant. Every so often a team comes along that is worth savouring - in the early 80s it was ACMilan when their president said he was going to buy up all the good players in Europe. They were hated but great to watch - and all it means is everyone else catches up eventually until another Guardiola comes along again.

They're a great side, and so they should be given that they have unlimited resources (relatively) and have so far been immune to any meaningful FFP sanction. Good for them. Tactics have fallen to bits at the sharp end of the Champions league though, but it is very hard to see that happening again. Amazing to think that not so long ago they finished below us in a relegation fight and dropped to tier 3.

Fucking ridiculous. I used to watch the odd champions league game, now I can't be arsed. In fact top flight football bores me tbh, it's such an over-hyped wankfest.

What's the best league in the world now?
It used be Serie A and La Liga. EPL later overtook them but don't know if that's still the case...

EPL still the best league in the world imo. no other league and only a handfull of teams can compete with the financial muscle or alure of the EPL. put a pereniel midtable side like crystal palace in la liga and they'd be pushing for the top 6 year on year. my personal choice as best/most entertaining league though is the championship. no other league is as unpredictable, chaotic, crazy or resourceful as this one. yeah a gap is growing between the relegated 3 and the other clubs but there's always smart chairmen out there and underdog stories every season.

And in 25/26 all matches will have to be played in Saudi Arabia, you will be able to buy players from the opposing team at half time and the losing manager will have his house repossessed and be given a flat in Tower Hamlets.

Premier league is way over hyped.
Its just about as far away from the working man as it can get.
And all you get is incompetent refs, players diving, feighning injury. With Sky now think there is more talking about the game than the game itself. Most players are prima donnas,VAR is a nonsense. Also Sky even employ Jay Boothroyd among other dead beats as pundits.
Hopefully soon the bubble will burst and the top six will go to a world league and our game will level out for an even more exciting, competetive championship.

There just one agenda. Get more TV money, earn more cash for EUFA's already bulging coffers.
Dress it all up as an exciting new format 'for the fans'.

Eventually be watching robots with AI and the ref will still be human until he makes a mistake and the robots kill him.

Thinking about it, it would be dead easy to define offside as the relative position of the attacker's and defender's feet. Small trackers could be embedded in players' boots - no more offside arguments!

Villa's financials looking like they may attract FFP interest (though Villa seem to think they wont...)
---------
"Aston Villa have reported a loss of £119.6m in their latest accounts up to 31 May 2023.
The accounts cover a period that saw Villa finish seventh in the Premier League to qualify for Europe.
Villa say the figures are "in line with the strategic business plan" and within the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules.
PSR rules, introduced in 2015-16, permit losses of up to £105m in a three-year spell."

At the last World Cup was VAR offside not done by AI hence why FIFA were so quick at it getting outcome compared to the prem which relies on people drawing lines.
