Which former R would you prefer if you could take either as manager at some point down line?
Gareth done very well at Wycombe on what I assume is a very small budget
Joey would bring Clint with him and seems done well with Fleetwood since going in there

Ainsworth or Barton ?
I'd probably go for Lee Johnson

Wouldn’t want Barton involved with rangers in any capacity under any circumstances

I wanted Ainsworth when Warburton came in. Haven't seen anything since to change my mind. Just to be clear, not saying Warburton should go. But I do think Ainsworth would have proved a better appointment.
Wouldn't have Barton anywhere near the club again. The bloke is an utter wanker!

Joey and Clint. Clint as the defensive coach..

Joey's pretty unpopular around these parts, so that kind of appointment would be very divisive amongst the fan base, where pre-existing divisions already exist. For that reason alone it wouldn't be a wise appointment, whether or not he would do a good job. And if he were to do a good job there will always be section of the fan base who he could never win over due to his past, both at QPR and previously. There would be bad feeling towards him before he'd even got his feet under the desk. IOW the antithesis of a safe pair of hands at an already fragile club.

The ideal option would be Ainsworth and Hill then perhaps, Stanley75

Joey would be better for the supporters as he would be more vocal re recruitment and budgets where as Ainsworth is more like to toe the line and get on with what he is given

I watched both games on TV that Wycombe played against Fleetwood..Wycombe were hoofball and Fleetwood played some lovely one touch football.
Maybe Gareth budget is a lot lower but I could not stomach watching us playing like that every week.

Neither just buy some decent players for our existing manager

Neither. Much as I love Ainsworth, we all know the minute he gets on a run of bad results he'd be hounded out, legend status gone. To Barton I'll just say no thanks.

I don't even dislike Joey, he's just a bit of an idiot. As QPR manager? Never....and some say the club is a circus now...

Load of bollocks....neither would work under our limitations in being able to change a squad that simply fucks decent managers

Barton teams plays attractive football, would liken him to Tommy Docherty.
Ainsworth teams play negative football and would liken him to Tony Pullis.

I saw the Gasheads play at home last season v Cambridge Utd. I wouldn't exactly describe it as attractive football. The overall quality on display was dire.
PS - did you actually remember this thread from 2 years ago?

I haven’t seen Bristol Rovers on tv but saw his Fleetwood Town side play very attractive football 2 seasons ago in playoffs. Barton got Rovers promoted from league 2 in his first season and kept them in League 1 last season, no mean feat imo. I was browsing and found this old thread.

He may have got them promoted, but that doesn't mean they play attractive football. And that promotion had something dodgy about it, what was it, 7-0 in the final game or something, to go up on goal difference? Shades of our 6-0 v Palace!

The objective was to stay in League 1 which they did, paying £60k for striker Aaron Collins and turning him into League 1 player of the season with a reputed £4m transfer fee has to be considered astute Hubble or do you just dislike Barton?

I neither like nor dislike Barton, I'm simply commenting on his style of play, which as I said, I witnessed first hand. I wouldn't want him here as a manager though, any more than I want Ainsworth.

If Barton became QPR manager I would stop going to games and take far less interest in the club, except to count down the days until the narcissistic unpleasant little shit fucked off.

Neither but for very different reasons. Ainsworth because on the evidence so far the football is painful and old fashioned which will put up any youngster worth their salt. For a club that’s supposed to improve players and sell them on that’s very worrying.
Barton because he’s a complete fucking cunt and would look much better under the wheels of a double decker
