Bit of a forgotten man!
Wheeler has a year left on his deal and seems to have done very well 2nd half of the season at MK Dons. Could he feature here next season?

Could he feature here next season? Hope so. Never got a fair crack of the whip under Ollie, who unsurprisingly always played him out of position, and so we never saw the best of him. |

Never really got a shot here, looked ok whenever he played imo. However, can't say I'm too bothered. One more off the wage bill. Good luck to him.

Would have liked to have seen more of him. I think his injury really put the kybosh on any future chance to start. League 1 standard player mate. I don't think 3 managers in a row can be wrong about that. Whilst the BBC site says we paid 500k for him, I really don't think we did. I think Wheeler was a roll of the dice on the cheap, having banged the goals in for 1 season at Exeter. He had a year left on his deal and I think we got him for peanuts. Doubt he was on much money either! |

liked the look of him when he played but his injury fucked him as others have said plus his loan spells last season were pretty unspectacular so it makes sense to move him on.

this shows the dangers of buying players from the lower leagues after they have one good season.

all signed after a good season which turned out to be a flash in the pan.

Quite liked him at boro but three managers can’t be wrong. The cold hard facts are we signed a load of shit. Let’s trust warbs to get it right and he seems to be doing a good job with a massive rebuild this summer. We need it. We’ve been dogshit for three seasons on the bounce, something had to change. Good luck to the lad though doesn’t seem a bad egg

The guy was 26 years old, had never played higher than League 2, had 1 year left on his deal and had only really ever had 1 good season. I'm sure the fee (which was undisclosed) was actually far less than what has been reported on a couple of websites. |
