Is it though? I think we've looked off the pace recently, and I'm sorry, whatever the theories about not being 100% early doors we should be bang up to speed by now. I think we've looked slow and lethargic, can't press properly, and iffy off the ball.

If you set up a 4-2-3-1 play out with a limited squad ability and no plan B you're going to struggle. We've seen it happen before. You can tell a lot about fitness from our off the ball work and our own press. For me there's improvement needed.

Doing two jobs usually means doing two poorly than one well. Not sure I like this compromise.

For me, you get the team razor sharp for the start of the season. All the best teams have intense fitness schedules. But as Hal says, we look well off the pace. It's one of the big concerns so far this season: lack of pressing, lack of intensity. This has to be in part dsue to fitness. The only player who seems to really go for it is Smyth.

With the increase in muscular injuries is it fair to suggest this job share approach (or whatever it is) is not working in our best interests?

Doing something about the situation with Ben Williams should be a priority now.
