Will be watching Tranmere tonight. Two players out of contract end of season who have had more than decent season. Monthe, looks a beast of a left sided centre half only 24 ( we released him in 2014 I believe) and Norwood 28 year old centre forward who’s banged in 29 goals this season.Make that 30!

I watched the first match. Not the last one, but could he be a new Grant Holt??

I thought he was older than that to be fair. At that age, and on a free, he'd be a decent signing. Would bring a wealth of experience. Always liked him as a player.

Lee Gregory would be a decent shout IMO

Norwich have just released a few. Steven Naismith is one of them. Knocking on a bit, but a decent player at this level.

Naismith is signing for Hearts by all accounts after a loan spell.

Naismith is signing for Hearts by all accounts after a loan spell. Dodged a bullet there. Have to be really careful about bringing in decent players on the way down and we've been shot too many times. They may still have a decent touch and find a bit of space but the hard yards find them out. In the old days you could look after someone without a turn of foot, not now though. The list of championship players out of contract reads like a who's who of players to be avoided.

Yup but we've also got it badly wrong in this department and the game aint slowing down. Fitness is the absolute key to this type of signing. We can't afford anymore passengers - Rio, bless, springs to mind

I think we paid the price in the 2nd half of this season of not having enough experience on the pitch. And given that we've lost a number of the more experienced players this summer, I fully expect Warburton to sign at least a couple of players in their 30's.

With a blank canvas does anyone reckon they could put together a promotion winning side just of those players currently available on a free

Wes Hoolahan used to be good passer of the ball and quite creative, but I guess "Used" is the keyword here? Any opinions on him? Edit: He is 37 years old. Too old imo. Next.

I am of the opinion that for the next season or two; 'if you have heard of them, then we can't afford them' may be a useful rule of thumb wrt QPR transfer dealings.
