Happy birthday Brights. That’s why we were away. So a double celebration. Maybe he brought us some luck…perhaps we should do this more often! Was a great day all round and can’t wait to watch the full game back when home in the smoke!
Well done to the travelling fans and the three who voted win too!

Think possibly we saw yesterday Ainsworth has more than one trick in his closet playing style.

Think possibly we saw yesterday Ainsworth has more than one trick in his closet playing style. also shows he either very stubborn or not confident if it took that long to use it.

Ok, shut us up, prove us wrong and show it wasn’t a flash in the pan.

Not a great fan of Gareth thanking the players every other sentence. Sounds like he's begging.

I kept the riffraff in check Thank you and well done. Seems you did a sterling job in the end. Literally just got back on to the island now and pleased to still see the fort has been held. Just have to watch the game back now!

Still got a nice warm glow from that win.
All the better for it being Cardiff, away.
Loved the Baadiff fan shouting 'Man on!' just as Smiffy mugs their full back for the assist, and then despairingly, 'What's he doing, what's he doing...?'

Finished watching the whole game back last night.
Cardiff will feel hard done by not to at least salvage a point after hitting the woodwork twice in the 2nd half and dominating possession, camped mainly in our half. We definitely rode our luck then.
The other concern was they did look much fitter than us in that latter stages of the game. Last 30 minutes we looked completely dead on our feet. Fitness levels clearly still need some work.
Plenty of positives though:
Our shape was excellent and unrecognisable to the Watford game. Cardiff had no answer to that until we tired.
And individually, Begovic, Cook, Fox, Paal, Armstrong, Smyth, Chair all had excellent games.
Dykes (in a withdrawn role behind Armstrong), Field and Kakay had solid games too.
And finally we have some proper leaders in the team - something that's actually been lacking for years.

You spotted the only player I didn't single out Sparks
TBF he wasn't bad (eg made a goal saving clearance and defensive play in 1st half), but just not that good either. And still too anonymous for a CM.
Richards and EDB are his natural replacements. Why that's not happened yet is a mystery to most. He must have something on GA or one of the owners...

Not sure I see Richards as a replacement for Dozzell, Richards can go past people but think his weight/accuracy of passing is sloppy at times, he’s a number 10 for me. I wish someone could put a rocket under Bonner because he’s got the football skills but can drift through games without the ball.

Personally don’t see Richards as replacement for dozzell or bonner (still working him out)
Dozzell is in the Tom Carroll role get it and give it. Would be nice to see him be bit more robust so he adds to his game. I thought I saw bit of that versus Cardiff as he got about the pitch and got stuck in more then normal although your left still expecting bit more.

I mention Dozzell in the same bracket as Dixon because they're both classed as CMs, not DMs like Field and Colback. True, Richards looks more like an AM in the Chair and Willock mould.
