So, while anxiously waiting for the mass of late signing that will be arriving within the next five hours, here's an interesting (if rather depressing) little tale, which I've got from Loft For Words, gleaned from a couple Clive W's postings:

Apparently we agreed a £300k deal for Josh Knight (Peterborough United) earlier in the window but deal collapsed. We may possibly go back in for him, he can play in a number of positions across the defence.
The fee and the deal had been agreed.
The player had cleaned out his locker at Peterborough and said his goodbyes, and turned up at Loftus Road for all the photographs and media stuff with his parents and agent.
QPR's higher-ups pulled the plug, saying no transfer fees under any circumstances.
Player gutted, went back to Posh with his tail between his legs.
Peterborough fuming, not getting their cash.
Gareth mortified and embarrassed.
Not great.
