True, Field was excellent too - amazing goal line clearance which likely earned us the point.
Dykes unlucky with the header.
Kakay poor game tonight.
Chair excellent throughout.
Willock starting to comeback strong and showing glimpses of former self
Paal always solid, dependable and chips in with goals.
Armstrong - really think he needs resting
Cook and Fox - really like these two signings
Albert - nice little cameo. Looked a threat from the wing and up for it against his Birmingham boo boys.

Is it true that Field is out of the Coventry game? Yes. If he is on 5 yellows now. At least they’ve sold Hamer😁

I think Paal was in trouble right from the start.

I think it's a big positive that we started both halves strong. Shows that our mentality is improving. Our fitness must be improving as well because we could still run near the end. Just need a bit more quality in the forward areas. Don't know where we'll find it though? Onwards and upwards.

Biggest positive for me was that we kept going for 90 plus and Willock looked fitter and interested. Maybe new regime is working and we get our player back.

Decent. Clean sheet and a point away at Brum.
Seems like we’re settling into Gaz-ball.

Although we got clean sheet, I don't think our defence was well organised. Quite the opposite, it was all over the place. But thanks to great saves and blocks we somehow managed to get a goalless draw.

Thought Dykes fucked up his header jumping too early. He had time to direct his header better IMO it was a good powerful header and if it only was directed half a meter more right it would have been impossible to save.

Dykes done what we have always accused him of not doing ie losing his marker and going back across goal, only good save prevented it going in. Same midweek got across his marker beating him to header and scored. Two games in row we’ve put decent balls in box and two he’s got on end of. Willock put great ball in midweek which Smyth got on end of and hit keeper. There are small signs of progress regards balls in box. Just need increase quality of them. Let’s hope it continues. Progress

A team that rarely keeps clean sheets and scores very few goals is destined for trouble.
If we don’t get 2 forwards in the January window I give up.
It’s so so so so obvious we are exceptionally lightweight up top and have been for ages now.

Still, a point and clean sheet away to Birmingham isn't a bad result.
In the context too of one loss in four now and small signs of putting a little run together...

What goalscoring striker will be available on a free in Jan?

A positive end to a very tough week. Last thing you want is players having to run themselves into the ground in the first of 3 games in 7 days, which is exactly what happened last Saturday when we were forced to play with 10 men for 85 minutes. Looked a bit leggy on Tuesday but you can’t deny, players gave absolutely everything last night. We’re not getting spanked by teams, far from it. Sunderland would never have won 1-3 had Colback stayed on. All this Gaz ball shite some fans keep regurgitating is simply a lazy comment. We play some decent football during matches and if we can get Willock going again he’ll chip in with some goals. GA has clearly got the players respect and very cleverly brought in some players who also command respect from the ones whose heads dropped on previous occasions when the going got tough. Fans can home in on things like #hakagate to undermine GA’s suitability as a manager but if it works it works. Pochettino keeps a bowl of lemons in his office to soak up bad energy ffs.

Progress I think yesterday we put good balls in the box only twice, both from Albert. People like Smyth as he has ability to get past his first player but it is meaningless as long as his delivery is so useless.

Generally am much happier than I was. I don’t think Gaz or his tactics will take us very far long term but the aim this season was always survival and - bar the Watford match - performances have often surpassed modest expectations. We have fight, we are grinding out some points, and with that will come belief. If we finish 17th and live to fight another season when FFP should not be so onerous then it’s at least looking a little rosier than it was a couple of months back.

It’s so so so so obvious we are exceptionally lightweight up top and have been for ages now. all of that will come though imo. the foundations have already been laid. we work hard, get in the right areas, are hard to beat and have players capable of causing damage. i'm genuinely not worried as i'm seeing enough positives from the team to know that goals will come. its not like the second half of last season where we never looked like scoring, we actually do look like we can score but for one reason or another it hasn't sprung about yet. genuinely, i know that we will have one or 2 games this season where we absolutely tonk another team. the results might not look it but i honestly believe that gaz is doing a good job. its a long term job but the difference in the culture and attitude of the players now compared to when he first took over is night and day. he deserves massive plaudits for that, we were shocking then but we look like a capable side thats been unlucky this season. things will only get better.

The fact that the club want to give our own young players a pathway into the 1st team should under no circumstances cost us a prolonged stay in this division. Make no mistake about, Armstrong and Kolli surely are exciting players to watch, but after all we are in a result business. Hence, we need to bring in new strikers, be free agents or not...sooner rather than later.
