None of them were 'rated' by the fans during their time with us to be fair. The latter two may have arrived with a fanfare but Hately was paraded to us on crutches and in 95' it was still the prevalent belief that those foreigners can't do it in England so Zelic wasn't expected to be great. My own 'over-rated' player would definitely be Darren Peacock.
Didn't think he was anything amazing with us - consistent and reliable, definitely - but we sold him for ridiculous money. I'm sure I remember hearing somewhere that Darren Peacock had one leg shorter than the other......not sure if that is relevant, but thought I'd share it anyway...... Had a copule of gins so hope I'm not repeating myself but I remember me and a mate on our way home from school meeting Darren Peacock as he withdrew dosheroonies from a hole-in-the-wall (Atm for the Americanised youngsters). You could park, just about without fear back then, (opposite mcdonald's acton high st), and he was driving.... An Escort XR3i. Droptop tbf.
