The club and manager saying the dont need a striker is dire. Ainsworth is out of his depth. Ainsworth never my kind of manager but again, what’s he meant to say? The board clearly told him that due to FFP or simply because they are fed up chucking money at us he couldn’t have a striker. So he had to big up what he had. A stronger argument is why not play Willock even as a striker if he doesn’t have the fitness for midfield.

Other than the goal I didn’t find anything of note in Kelman or Dozzell performance, I still don’t think they are first team quality. Kelman done more movement wise in 65-70 mins than Sinclair Armstrong has done all season in fairness. Had a couple of opportunities to get shots off in good positions but has not got any left foot and clearly no trust in even trying his left. Yea Kelman looked much better than Armstrong tbh fair play credit where it’s due.

Badly run. Simple as.

Read what you want from that

What striker was available this last close season on a free transfer and sensible wages with a proven track record of goals in the Championship?

Surely you are taking the piss? Happy to get beat and on a 6 game losing run and extended the worst home record in 141 years and you think he should still be in a job. Maybe the last sentence was partly a joke but i don't mind if we give him Rotherham game after that display. It is this kind of attitude of accepting shit that has seen us turn into also rans and mediocrity. He should not be anywhere near that touchline next week as lose that and we are as good as gone.

Absolutely no player is free. There was a list on here with out of contract players on it and there was about 6 strikers. Any one of them would be better than Dykes I absolutely guarantee it.

Cook wasn’t a free transfer and I would doubt either him Bergovic or Colback are not on at least 15k + per week, Fox probably slightly less.

Odd feeling after that game. Expected beating but we grafted for 90mins.
Still another defeat and sixth on the trot but the effort levels were more than we’ve seen in recent games.
Kelman was an improvement think he’s done enough to retain his place next week at Rotherham. We keep hearing he’s best finisher at club so I want see him shooting, second half had opportunity in good position and never let fly.
Thought Bonner done ok when he came on won the ball and was constantly talking and organising.
Dozzell was a twat as until then he was having a decent game.
Saw Steve Gallen after game.

Any one of them would be better than Dykes I absolutely guarantee it. Stand to be corrected if any of them were genuinely good, affordable and willing to come to us - don’t remember the list. But then goals conceded have been as much of an issue as goals not scored. So maybe if we’d signed a striker but then couldn’t get Cook, Berkovic and the new lad and we are conceding five a game the complaints would be “why can’t we sign a fucking defender?” As strikers always more expensive one way or another. Am not defending our failure to sign our own striker right back to when we no doubt spent fortunes on loans for Wells and Hemed but just to v slightly defend Ainsworth there wasn’t a lot of cash left by the time he turned up

Never wanted Ainsworth let alone for him to stay but we shouldn’t fall into the trap of thinking everything that ever happens at Rangers now is down to Gareth Ainsworth. We didn’t have a recognised centre half and our best midfield player was in defence. We don’t have a striker who can score a goal. Compare the value of our team to theirs, more like two divisions apart not just one. Ainsworth has been a terrible, terrible appointment but I don’t accept this defeat was primarily about him. We showed no fight in the 2nd half beyond Dozzell' petulance. That is the minimum we should expect and Ainsworth can't even get them to do that...

I just think this board has to have a boo boy who is blamed for everything bar the third world bogs. For a long while it was Dykes now it’s Ainsworth. To repeat, I want him to go, but imho anyone who thinks him going will suddenly transform us is being a little too optimistic because our problems are so much deeper now. Those problems will be here long after he has spent his inevitable pay off on cowboy boots, hair dye and cheap aftershave and I absolutely guarantee we still won’t have a decent striker

The two teams today last played this fixture in 13/14 season and look at what both clubs have over seen in that time. Both been relegated from PL QPR not a play off place. Record FFP fine Raiding dustbins for players Looking at possible relgation to 3rd tier.
Leicester 1 Premier League title, 1 FA Cup and 2 or 3 seasons of European football. Good transfer budget to work with having recruited well over the past 10 years. Promotion back to PL Sacked the manager who won them the title Sacked a manager who won them the FA cup.
Both clubs started in the same place back then and look at where they look like ending up. They have been run well over that time and we have not and not one lesson has been learned by anyone on our board or at our club.

Donkey has had over three years of our patience and GA is clearly out of his depth. He’s not the only one to blame, the board should never have appointed him but he’s going to take us down the way he uses the squad. We can’t keep just accepting the unnecessary.
