Seem to remember a game i went to way back. We got steamrollered by Man Utd 8-1 i think. Midweek game. at Old Trafford. First ever season in Division One. 1967/68. We were 2-1 down going into the 67th minute! Since then we've had two 7-1 defeats, both away. 1987 - Sheffield Wednesday 2018 - W.B.A To even things out, we also had a 8-1 win against Crewe in 1983: The home leg of the 2nd Round Milk Cup tie. Worst home defeats ever were both 6-0. Arsenal in 2001 Newcastle in 2017. ah the famous newcastle game. i finished work at about 2pm that day and waited around for the next 5 hours for the game to start. ended up leaving when we were 5-0 down but as i was going through the hallway they scored their 6th lol. awful night!

For me the Arsenal game is more memorable but for all the wrong reasons. It was the first time since 1996 that we'd had one of the big teams down at Loftus Road and the gulf that had developed between us the the top sides in that time was cruelly exposed in that match. It was an absolute massacre against a side we often got the better off less than a decade ago. Secondly, the Arsenal fanbase had significantly changed since the last time we had played them and incredibly so since the last time we played them in the FA Cup 11 years previously. Back in 1990 they were very much a working class fanbase with an edge but by 2001 they were full of middle class Johnny-Come-Latelys at the 'footy' to be trendy. I think that was more than likely, looking back, the game when it finally hit home that the game and club I had fallen in love with were never going to be the same again and I probably wouldn't like where both were heading.

Worst nightmare come true We're about to head into Division 3 for the first time in 20 years. I honestly believe that we could be the biggest side to enter the National League within the next 20.

Haven't been to a game in a couple of seasons now, more power to those that boycott. Maybe the club will get the fucking message. It's shit, and we aren't happy.

Only a couple of years since we played Leicester at home in a pre-season friendly and played then off the park for long periods

Amazingly you can get Leicester to win with a one goal handicap at evens

Crazily, had we been sitting in the top 10 playing ok we’d probably have allowed them to lose this one without too much criticism as Leicester definitely the team to beat this season.

I want to be there when we muller Leicester and I’ve already got my Rotherham ticket to avoid the subsequent rush……..

Speaking about Leicester City, with hindsight, we should have appointed Nigel Pearson.

Saturday? Just another day. Unsurprisingly, it hasn't worked!
I scrawled something about superstition when I saw Stan's post about your "another Saturday ruined" posts. Just going to go and find it.
Here we go: Superstition represents a sense of powerlessness and an attempt to control events that are clearly beyond our control. So it's a fear-based state of thought and comes from a lack of trust in the processes of existence. At the same time, on a more subtle level, it reflects our (usually) unconscious awareness that 'reality' is plastic, in the sense that 'we' have an effect on the 'reality' we inhabit. But still, at bottom, this is about a lack of trust in the process of life.
Of course, it's very hard to trust the processes of life, because so many things happen to us - beyond our control - that we label as 'bad'. And of course, in a narrative-based 'reality' (which is the one most of us unconsciously inhabit, and which is where all drama springs from), this seems to be true. To remove ourselves from this conditioned and conditional view of 'reality' is not easy. But it is my observation that what I call a 'drama-based' or 'narrative-based' reality is indeed the one that we focus on. This is the reason that we get so involved in a completely abstract set of made-up rules called 'football' - for example. And further this is why we choose to invest our emotional stability (in this example) in one particular 'team' and one particular set of outcomes.
Anyway, good morning, as you were.
