"Yes, hope so, think so" is what he replied when he got the question whether he will be in the dug-out on Saturday.

433 with Cook and Dunne as CBs Dykes Field and Kolli as the MF Willock Armstrong and Chair up front. Away win with Kolli to score. Dykes midfield? Yeah, that's got me scratching my head too!
Personally I think Armstrong is not quite up to Marti's standards. Obviously we have a few players out who would normally start, like Dozzell.
I reckon he'll go something like:
Begbie Cannon JCS Cook Paal Smyth Field Colback Chair Dykes Willock
Expect Kolli might feature at some point.

Colback is suspended Hubble, that’s why I selected Donkey in MF as at least he’s got some experience.

I’m glad you picked a team Hubble, Matty is fully aware that Colback and Salter are missing but he can keep giving out likes for no particular reason.🤣

if we're going for a 3 man midfield then i'd go with dykes and chair there too tbh. chair for his work rate and ability on the ball or dykes for his work rate and the fact i'd rather he not be up front.
for me it'd be a lineup like:
begovic cannon cook dunne paal dykes chair field smyth armstrong willock

Think I'd go Dixon-Bonner or Duke-Mckenna for Colback then.

Got my hopes up, feeling positive, but too soon for the ‘Marti Effect’.
Think Rotherham will win a nasty, physical game - suspect they’re more up for that than our lot.

I forgot that Dunne is available again, but Kakay contained Vardy well. Hugill will be a different player to meet though.

On a positive we have Cook and Dunne back. Dunne still commits far too many clangers but at least that means Field can play in midfield and Cook is the least crap of our central defenders.

Glass-Sicknote hurt his groin early in the game at Huddersfield. It’s no wonder he’s out again. Beale called him the best defender in the Championship but he’s so fragile he’s never going to be an asset.

I like the look of Bonner; ball playing attacking midfielder who can beat a man. Hopefully he gets more chances now.
Interesting in his national press interview he mentioned Willock as a player that is very technical. Is he going to be able to get the best out of him, and equally as important, get him to stay on. If he isn't going to stay on then very little point playing him.

Clean slate under Marti. We need to stay up. Once we do I couldn't give a toss what Chris Willock does tbh.

Does he play 433? I'd prefer 4231. With the one being Kelman for a run of games. Anyone but Dykes. The three being Willock Chair and Smyth. Willock being in the last chance saloon.

Can't stand Dykes. Hate him as a player but we're so strapped for natural 'strikers' he always gets a pass from managers. Piss poor. Get out of trouble and get rid.

Really hoping that the change in style will help Armstrong out. He will get more balls inbehind to run onto, on the deck, rather than having the ball smashed up to him with no one supporting. Hopeuflly with people nearer to him and the ball on the deck wil lsuit him

Yes but stressed he is flexible with formation according to player options and availability. Interesting to note too there that he did not include 'who the opposition is', which suggests he has much more conviction regarding his footballing philosophy.

I seem to remember that he had his team set up in a diamond formation with 3 at the back when he managed in Norway.

I'd like a Willock Kelman Chair interchange as a front three. Because you'll see the best out of Ilias when he's given free range to swap over. Maybe too soon for such a wholesale change of tactics, but when were good under Beale that was basically how he did it.

Iroegbunam was a big factor in that too (and Johansen to a lesser extent) and we no longer have that type of player in midfield. So that'll also be a challenge for him, not to mention the totally shit options up front (agree Kelman needs a run, saying that). Just hope he'll get some kind of backing in the Jan window.
