Really hope he does stay as he’s done a superb job so far. Genuinely cannot think of a single reason why Burnley would be an attraction for him. Very small Lancashire town, same division with a fairly suspect ownership model. But if he did go, obviously I’d regard him as just as big a cunt as Beale and Redknapp!😂 Shit place to live but pretty well equipped to bounce straight back to the top flight. They'll also probably pay him 3 or 4 times as much as we will. Don't think that bothers him tbh. He even lived in Norway ffs.

Off to Burnley is what I'm hearing on the jungle drums. Can you explain a bit more about these “jungle drums”? Marti odds getting longer, now at 20-1

Let's see. Could have been bollocks. Was just sharing what a few texts I received said. I hope I'm wrong, but the fact that he's being linked with both Leicester and Burnley makes me think he's put himself in the shop window.

tbh it's very easy and understandable for marti to be linked to these jobs after the job he's done with us. doubt it's him putting himself out there but rather a more natural development.

Yes Lampard, then Bellamy. Those 2 are quite a bit ahead of the others. Then goes to Ruud VanN, Scott Parker, Coberan. Then Marti and a couple of others at 20-1

You have a lot more faith than me mate. I honestly expect mercenary behaviour from just about everyone in football these days. I was actually genuinely pleased when McKenna signed a new deal at Ipswich. First time in ages that I can remember a manager showing a bit of loyalty when bigger clubs have come knocking.

If he does go, I won't blame him. He did his job here, and kept us up against the odds. If someone offers him double or triple wages, now that his stock is high, he would be stupid to refuse the offer. That said, I still hope the offers won't be that good, and we get to keep him for another season.

What was our form last season since 20th Jan (below) under Marti? Top 6 would you say? And all that was with no proper strikers. If he does stay and there's no reason to think that form couldn't continue into next season (if he really is the manager he's being touted as), then just imagine the unthinkable. He wouldn't necessarily need to leave then as we'd be in a much stronger bargaining position. Stranger things have happened at sea, folks, and plenty other examples of clubs our size have shown how it can be achieved.

Stan, I think I read somewhere that if the league started the day that Andre Dozzell left the club we'd have finished 4th.

Ainsworth was an embarrassing appointment That showed no ambition to get back to the promise land poor from the owners
Whoever appointed Marti is a genius tbh
Replacing Willock and Chair will not be easy as we will def be alot weaker if they both leave the club.

I was more backing up what Stan was saying in that we should be in decent shape next season if we can retain the manager this summer.

It was truly remarkable what he achieved with a team so lacking in goals. Keep it to yourself though folks !
