If he's a success here I whole heartedly thank Shania for mentioning his name so much 🤣 ...and if not?

Welcome, Marti Cifuentes, and I hope you will get your old band together. Any ideas who are his assistants? Can't find their names now, but I think they split up after their spell ar Sandefjord fotball. Edit: One of them was the physical trainer of the name Jordy Gonzales. The other one trained the goalkeepers. His name is Javier Ortis, still contracted to Sandefjord fotball.

Standard 3. 5 year I would expect. Hoos and Bhatia and the genial Belk stearing the ship.

I really don't want to get too excited about him because of how dire everything is right now...but he's an unknown foreign manager (something many of us have clamored for many times in the past) and I keep having little thoughts about him being a success a la De Zerbi at Brighton, and I can't help it. I know, it's QPR, he's not on De Zerbi's level obviously...but the unknown excites me a bit, against my better judgment.

I expect us to be unbeaten for the rest of the season and he’s going to turn Kakay into Kyle Walker and Duke McKenna into Jude Bellingham. Anything less and i’ll be disappointed.

Well at least he isn’t Ainsworth
That’s one positive
And it’s early in the season
That’s another positive
He looks like a moody fucker
That’s another positive
About time we went foreign tbh
Durys out but hope it works

if he doesn't work out then we need to hold her accountable in the same way we do about the board. we need to prepare and come up some nicknames for sure.

No one knows who he is 🤣😂🤡 You don’t want to know anything about him.🤣 If I did, other than a half page in Wikipedia, there's fuck all to find out about him. That itself tells me something. Not only have we never heard of him. None of us, other than Shania, has heard of any of the clubs he's managed. None of them.

tbh though in regards to his managerial history that genuinely doesn't bother me and if anything it can be viewed as a positive. he hasn't had the luxury of being a former player and finding jobs easy and is instead had to grind to get to a good level. guy is only 41 but has worked in england, netherlands, spain, denmark, norway and sweden already.
he's clearly committed to being a manager and the fact he's done it all on hardmode is impressive to me.

Well there's his managerial record (off Wikipedia, make of that what you will). Not terrible to be fair? Granted, this job is probably his biggest challenge. I believe he got Hammarby into Europe with a good win/loss record (someone correct me if I'm wrong please). But yeah, there it is. Some will obviously still plough ahead with "yeah well he's never managed in England" or "all those teams are shit in shit leagues" and you're probably right, but that still is a largely decent record no matter what level you're at. Imo of course. Or I'm completely wrong and talking out of my arse, it's been known to happen 🤣

The same could be said of just about every manager in a foreign country for most fans on here, drown yourself in the tactical article on him that’s on LFW. i posted a video on him last season when he was reputedly interviewed before Critchley was appointed.

Gents. Please remember the types of characters we have at our club who downed tools for 2 or 3 recent managers and also the fact we have one recognised striker and that is Dykes. This guy is going to have to be a genius to get a tune out of this lot.

Some of you need to get a grip and give the bloke a fucking chance, FFS!
Good grief. He's obviously a competent manager. He's clearly light years ahead of Frank Gallagher in terms of intelligence, tactics and... dress sense. It's not going to be easy, but then it wasn't going to be easy for anyone. The word is the board did speak to Colin, but for whatever reason, terms couldsn't be agreed. So welcome Marti, to the coolest club in the coolest city in the world. We've got a shabby little stadium and a bunch of second-rate pricks for players, but WHAT an opportunity to make a real name for yourself! I wish him all the very best and I am excited!

Guys, more importantly I think we should know the correct pronunciation of his name: The name "Martí" is of Catalan origin and is usually pronounced in a way that's distinct from the Spanish or English pronunciation of similar names. In the Catalan pronunciation, the accent on the "í" indicates that the stress is on the second syllable. The "r" is rolled or flapped, which is typical in Catalan and Spanish. Here's a rough guide to its pronunciation: - Mar: The "Mar" part is pronounced somewhat like the English word "mar," but with a rolled or flapped "r." - tí: The "tí" part is pronounced like "tee," with emphasis, because of the accent mark. So, it would be something like "Mar-TEE," with stress on the "TEE," and a rolled or flapped "r." Please note that pronunciation can vary by region and individual preference. =============== Now go do your homework!

Partly why she's been so keen too View AttachmentWell there's his managerial record (off Wikipedia, make of that what you will). Not terrible to be fair? Marti Cifuentes: “QPR is a fantastic club with fantastic history. The situation in the table is not the best but from tomorrow I start a new chapter in my life that I am really looking forward to.”
“I hope and believe I can achieve very well at QPR.”
