Can honestly say this squad is the worst squad i have ever seen at the R's. No intent,no fight,no passion,no heart just going through the motions. I seen poor sides but always had spirit fight and belief but at times its like boys against men. Never been so down about us ever. Trouble is where we go to try to rectify the decisions that have put us in this situation i honestly have'nt a clue. That I don’t agree with. Our best team last season was: begovic, Dunne, Cook, JCS, Paal, Colback, Field, Anderson, Chair, Willock, Dykes Everyone hated Begovic and Dykes. They’ve gone. I think Saito and Dembele are good enough replacements for Willock. I think Varane is a decent replacement for Hayden that wasn’t even a starter. The problem is we have so many injury prone players and it shows what a shit state we were in last season. We got lucky, very lucky. So we can’t criticise the squad too much. Its basically the same as last season

This can’t be down to these 2 players not being in the squad.

I’m really sorry to say this, but I don’t think he has the tactical capacity to manage at this level. I dont need to repeat his obvious shortcomings here yet again.
So many things are wrong with the way he sets up. The players aren’t quality but they’ve obviously lost confidence in him, and when that happens the end is never very far away. This isn’t the 1970s, if you delay for too long you find yourself down a division and risking not getting back again. He’s been found out awful quick. Time to move on.

Can’t agree Varane is anywhere near Hayden. Agree it has to be more than just Hayden and Willock.

I just think we’re not good enough to play out. We don’t do it fast enough, we don’t move the opposition around to make gaps, we don’t have the players to exploit the gaps if we do make them and we don’t pass well enough to find them if they do. The best we’ve played in recent times was when Chair and Willock were moving around creating their little triangles. A simpler game and more suited to our standard. We can’t practice the ‘City game’ all the way to League One.

Trying to play too much football with players who ain't up to it. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot to admire about it but in this league there are times when you can knock it about and times where you have to play a bit more direct. What concerns me most is we have signed players to suit this style who need a fuck load of toughening up before they are ready to play in the Championship. I fear we may be too far adrift at the bottom to salvage things before we've found a fix for this problem.

Gutted to say it but he’s looking very much like a busted flush. The players look bereft and once a team doubts their manager, which it looked like last night, the writing is on the wall.

How many failed managers do we need to blame until we realise the issue is deeper than who's sat in the dugout?

I do not buy the go direct line. Why must we pump it forward to players who cannot hold it up?
I've said on another thread but we cannot cope with who is missing. Look at our bench, it would struggle in league one.
If it were just Paal, or just Chair, or just Frey etc we could still do it.
But 5 or so that start most games all.out at once, is having an impact. Plus there's a chronic lack of pace in our modified and attack.

I was more think of finding a middle ground, but how, that`s not my perogative to find out. All the injuries does of course affect Marti`s work, no doubt about that.

A lot comes down to recruitment as well.
I think Kolli was supposed to be the 3rd choice striker with Celar and Frey fighting over the main spot. Obviously the contract situation put that to rest and it was now just 2 strikers. Now the striker we have left hasn't hit the ground running (or done any running).
I could be totally wrong of course.
Then losing the key players to injuries impacts it as well. Who decided the final squad? Why is it lopsided and left with gaps? I think that is the more pressing issue.
But then even at LB, Paal never got injured. We have Fox as a back up - fine, on paper. But then they both get injured at the same time and we have to play our 2nd choice right back, at left back.
