so the newcastle lad has not been brought in to sit on the bench.
Assuming we play with two central midfielders, if everyone is fit/ not suspended (big ask) who drops out, Colback or Field? Or is there some combo that gets all three in the side?

Or is there some combo that gets all three in the side? Well assuming he sticks with 4-3-3, something like this: Begovic
Cannon Cook JCS Paal
Hayden Chair Colback
Smyth Frey Armstrong

A DM, AM and a striker. Welldone the club. Now that’s got to mean no more bloody donkey in the starting 11. Thank god.

Hayden, Hodge and Frey.
Don't know anything about any of them.
But in Marti we trust...
...I think.

So Chair, Willock and Field still here because no one wanted them or they didn't meet the asking price? 🤔
Interesting too that the business we've done did not depend on having to sell anyone....

As a fan this is great news.
Fans of course think very short term and mainly about what's on the pitch.
I just hope the young new CEO knows what he is doing. If he has for eg got Wolves and Newcastle paying most of the wages of the other two signings, fantastic. But he alluded to how Fey had really compromised on his wages because the club are broke, yet we then go and get two and probably three more players. Sorry to sound cautious as I am genuinely very excited about this Danish guy but I just hope this isn't a window we look back on like the Stef/ Charlie one. , At the time Hoos assured us it was all well within budget, until it later emerged it wasn't.
Transfer windows are a bit like budgets - they say budgets that are popular at the time turn out to be disastrous and vice versa.
However, I am happy to suspend my scepticism and believe the club has finally learned the dark arts of accounting (stadium naming rights, off-loading crap players, amortising player assets etc) and are within FFP while potentially transforming the team into one that should be very competitive in the Championship this season (next season a whole other crisis waiting to happen!). Anyway, quietly optimistic and even excited this morning.

Anyway, quietly optimistic and even excited this morning. Next season is actually more comfortable on FFP Stains. This one was always the most challenging on that front. If we can somehow stay up, I would love to see Marti get some more of his own players in and build a squad who can competently play his way.

Hope you are right Jack.
As fans we have been sent some extremely mixed messages. Appreciate next year should be much better, but we might well have "done a Taylor Richards" and off-loaded a lot of this year spend on to next season (eg we might have offered lower salaries with big bonuses to be paid next year if we have stayed up, just for example). We have a CEO who says we will make zero signings this window because we have no money and then we go out and get three, most likely four players - obviously I'm far from complaining if its sustainable and happy to hail the CEO as a genius if it all hangs together financially, but have been a Rangers fan too long just to assume everything will be plain sailing!

We happy with the window then chaps? Really happy. We’ve got rid of 2 players that don’t contribute to the starting 11 and dozzel who was pretty poor and didn’t influence games as he should. Think they are 3 first team quality players we’ve added so the squad is much stronger overall. If we get the Dane too then we’ve had a fantastic window when I honestly didn’t expect it. Good work from the club and a really positive impact from the new ceo already. No way that would have happened under hoos

Wouldn't surprise me if, behind the scenes, Marti told Dykes, Dozzell and Field that they aren't in his long-term plans, out of fairness to them.

Why would you tell players that they aren't needed yet play them? Take your point but let's see if he plays them? Considering the new signings. And considering the club needs the income, it then alerts their agents
