Interesting also that he said promotion had been targeted for 2022/23 season but the opportunity came a year early. and we went for it full pelt by signing................. hendrick in the january transfer window. ffs Bloody Hendrick I had almost forgotten about that bloke

That signing will haunt me for a few years. third in the league, 2pts off second place, and we sign that pile of crap to bolster our promotion push. One of the worst midfielders i have seen in a rangers and ireland shirt in 40 years.

Interesting also that he said promotion had been targeted for 2022/23 season but the opportunity came a year early. Banfield saying 2022/3 was targeted suggests to me that there could have been some foresight regarding a modest transfer budget being available for this season.

Also he’s keeping on Banfield, remember? That's TBC as far as I'm aware mate. Fair enough though, let's see what backroom team they put together. If both the Manager and Assistant are in their 30's though, it does set the stall out that they'll be going for youth over experience somewhat. Or they have not sorted out Barney’s exit arrangements yet "Damian Matthew will work alongside Assistant Coach Neil Banfield and Goalkeeping Coach Gavin Ward who are remaining with the club":

Similar to Chris Ramsey and Neil Banfield, Damian Matthew has seen the full journey that a player must go on through academy to senior football and into the Premier League and international honours. Michael Beale said: Beale has already worked with Banfield and he is pleased to have him as part of his coaching set up at Loftus Road. www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/damian-matthew-joins-beales-backroom-team/
