It’s a bit worrying that with a raft of games being played in the nex 20 or so days players are already dropping out.

i agree with him tbh. 11 vs 11 they would have won, they were by far the better team for the first 60 minutes as we resorted to gazball for most of it.
agree with the sentiments about the ref too, he was bloody awful and even though his decisions favoured us he's the main reason we were able to win the game. said it before but the second yellow wasn't a yellow card, i could understand if stevens had been fouling people all night and that challenge happened to just be the final straw but i don't remember him putting in many fouls. it was minimal contact but it was what smyth was looking for so he went down and imo it was a very soft freekick to give regardless, if it happened to us we would have been fuming.
2nd goal just killed the game for them and after all the yellows, sending off and how eager the ref was to deepthroat his whistle there wasn't much stoke could do.
gotta say though stoke's number 22 looks like a real player. best player i've seen at LR this season, guy was tearing us a new asshole everytime he had the ball. stoke were stupid to take him off.
hopefully cannon and JCS start against preston. cannon opened up so much space on the right compared to kakay and is a smart dude. if JCS can actually stay fit then he's one of the best CBs in the league, calm, pacey, composed and good with the ball. i like dunne but he's a bit rash, JCS is head and shoulders above him imo.
there's still glaring issues in the side. field and colback have both dropped off a bit. i thought EDB was ok, had a good shot from that corner but wasn't as industrious as he normally is.
dykes despite scoring 2 is still shit. he was terrible for the first 70-80 minutes, cracking goal from him and it motivated him to actually become a battering ram but my god he frustrates me. i think he'd actually be a great player if he was the only player on the pitch but its like he's 3 seconds behind everyone else, its infruriating to see him muscled off of high balls that he should be winning or doing flick ons that make no sense. he's part of the reason why i think chair and willock are so selfish with the ball. and why the fuck is he never in the box? crosses are pointless if he's not there.

I personally don’t think we would have lost I felt it was a pretty even game and we were creating chances. Worst result would have been a draw.
None of the the goals we scored when you reflect were down To them not having extra man it was just bad defending. If we were stretching pitch and pulling them about I could get that but we were not.

If we were stretching pitch and pulling them about I could get that but we were not. bad defending and their heads dropping imo. you could tell they were crushed after we equalised and they just gave up after that. i think the bad defending could have been down to the card happy ref, he tied their hands in a lot of regards. we had a few nice passages of play during the 60 minutes but i did feel like it was stokes to lose even after the sending off. eitherway it feels fucking great to finally win at home and so emphatically too. its been a rotten year and difficult to build any enthusiasm for going to games.

Some of you lot seem to have gotten through a lot of tissues last night… What a great feeling waking up to the after-glow of a decent win Two goals for Dykes too - let’s hope he really kicks on now (or is that too optimistic…?) Willock beginning to look like he wants it again. And it’s always nice to beat Stoke - and to rub it in with two late, late goals, priceless.

Larkeche most valuable player today. What a fight that changed the game! Like I been telling you doc he has to use the youngsters as much as possible (inc Kolli and Aohara when back from injury) Some of our senior players are shot away (Field, Colbeck) and the others are only just beginning to find a bit of confidence. I'd exclude Armstrong though. He is nowhere near the other promising young uns, he's come through on the back of the Dykes crisis.

I was just deconstructing it Luckily Marti wasn't joining the circle jerk particularly re Dykes. He knows turning him into a footballer is still a massive ask. More or less said so in coded language

Be interesting to see what he's able to get out of them.

Just seen the goals, gotta give so much credit to Ziyed Larkeche for that third goal. THAT is the kind of fight and commitment I like to win the ball. Brilliant stuff, hope we see more of that.

Thought JCS dealt with their strikers brilliantly when he came on. Winning his duels and moving us forward. Most of these games are won by fine margins, having JCS over Dunne, Cannon over Kakay……defensive changes but makes a difference between relegation and survival for me.

I'd hope both Cannon and JCS start against Preston in place of Kakay and Dunne. Dykes has probably cemented his place again with those 2 goals and, much as I hate to admit it, that's hard to argue against. Preston will be very very tough so we need our defence as solid as possible and with Dunne it just isn't.

Not sure I’d leave Field out. He has dipped a bit but for long enough he’s been one of our more consistent performers and gets through a lot of unnoticed work. He’s always the one who gets the last minute foot in. I think he’s something for Marti to work with. protecting the defence.

For me, Colback is a better player. Tough one but we definitely need JcS back in and Cannon too. Chair, Willock, Paal, Cook…got makings of a decent side

JCS is our best defender by a country mile tbh. Just made of glass. If / when fit, he's 1 of the first names on the team sheet.
