We played well. Chair was probably our best player but also main reason why we didn't get anything from this. He had absolutely no end product today.
Paal was useless in midfield. Our substitutes offered nothing.

Thought we played quite well. Chair put a couple of decent balls in and a bit earlier too which was good to see. Decent balls in but no one on the end as per. Willlocks injury hopefully not too bad. Entertaining game and we are a million times better under Marti. Some very favourable games coming up in the new year and we’ve at least given ourselves a chance.

We played quite prettily and a lot better than recently but we have nothing up front, we could be playing till next Christmas and we wouldn't have broken Southampton down. |

It all comes down to our age-old problem that we don't even need to spell out on here to all the regulars, and whether that can be addressed in Jan. Plus if Chair goes to AFCON I think we are fucked as we have no one else. |

Everyone's different - personally what bugs me is fans thinking we are better than we are and then being really, really down when we lose and in some cases (not yours) lashing out as a result. We are in a relegation scrap and its going to be about picking up odd points and very scarce wins here and there. Marti is a very promising manager but as Bill said he isn't a miracle worker. We are third bottom for a reason, not just Ainsworth. |

you think i'm not the same Stains? been supporting the club since '74 mate, so even longer than you i think. people were saying it was a foregone conclusion at half time and 1-0 down. that's unrealistic and defeatist in my view. and of course i'm not naive enough to think MC is a miracle worker either.

That clothes line by Charles on Adomah was a straight red everyday of the week for me....
Cheating bar steward gets a one match ban instead of a three
Saints really were cynical, any cards were almost congratulated ...
One took out willock which ended our goal threat...
Could have played till midnight and they would likely to have scored rather than us

Not questioning you as a fan, Stan (to misquote Eminem). But as someone (poss Acton) and myself said at half time they would stroke it round and we wouldn't get a foothold in the game. We have now scored one goal in three games (and that was an own goal). They have several premier league players, are in unbelievable form and we have a striker who would struggle in a pub side and Dozzell who is basically a mannequin. I'm not a grinch, I thought we might just hang on against Sheffield Wed, but even tho we played better today I just never believed it would be enough, sorry. |

In fairness to Marti, what options does he have? Smyth normally has the lowest number of touches on the pitch when he plays, Armstrong has the highest number of offsides and isn't a centre forward, Kelman is hardly banging them in for the reserves. Kolli is the only one who vaguely piques my interest but he is basically a kid who has looked promising at a very junior level so no idea if he would be any better (and might even be injured?). |
