So one player from each of our last three promotions. If you could choose one player from those squads to play now who would it be and why?
2003/4 Furlong for me, thought he transformed that side. Held the ball up brought others into the game and had that feeling he would show in all the big games. His experience was key
2010/11 Adel. Nothing more needs saying. Would be amazed if anyone selects anyone else
2013/14 Austin by country mile. Absolute goal machine and every time he played I felt like we were in the game as put ball in right area and there was chance he would hit target
Shittu/Carlise was in with shout for 03/04 as we could be done with CB like that. Derry if it had not been Adel. Dunne or Ned only challengers for Austin
Others thoughts?

Rowlands in 03-04 for me. Quality throughout and scored some crucial goals. Also has a cracker against on port vale I think

Agree with the 2 more recent promotions. 03/04 for me would have to be Gareth Ainsworth. Superb for the entire season, wonderful player.

Two good shouts. Think I would plump Rowlands over Ainsworth

Gallen in 03/04, Paddy in 10/11 and Dunney in 13/14. Charlie and Adel were standout in the last two promotions while PK and RD were just as crucial.

Interesting call on Paddy 73. He cane into my head but given choice of one or other had to be Adel for me

Players player of the year Westy was Paddy and for me was outstanding in his time with us which was cut short by Hughes's decision to spunk 150k a week on Green and Cesar. Paddy for me was up there with Seaman and Stesjkal while wearing the hoops. 20 odd clean sheets said it all.

For me the keeper was one of the last areas that needed addressing. I would have been happy with Paddy staying in goal
Did he not go all native on us after he left??

He never let it go and had a pop at Hughes after Green let 5 in on his debut v Swansea.

Irrespective of leadership qualities, attitude, injuries etc. if you are looking at just having the best player from each of those sides (I would like to throw my hat in the ring for Macca in TV's promotion side too ) then mine would be Rowlands, Taarabt & Austin. I still can't believe that the FL Championship player of the year didn't get POTY at his own club.

Very harshly treated by Hughes.

might be a bit controversial but the players i'd go for would be rowlands, hill and austin. taarabt was a great great player for us but he wouldn't thrive in our current team like he did before when he had an entire team to cover for his shortcomings. we have no real leaders on the pitch or proper quality in defence so thats why i'd go for hill so he could organize us.
austin is obviously a shoe in and rowlands was a great player for us who could come in alongside luongo and reinforce the side

Would have said Derry was as big a leader if not more than Hill that season. In saying that we had good characters in that team.

To have them in our current team now, then I'd take:
2003/04 - Gino Padula (We are struggling for a proper LB) 2010/11 - Kyle Walker (England International, enough said) 2013/14 - Charlie Austin (Would no longer struggle for goals)

Brett Angel from first promo he was shite Struggling for second promo Will keane was shit from final promo Good old will Keane. Apparently it was the “unseen” things he did so well. Well all I saw was a so-called centre forward with no pace, poor first touch, crap shot, can’t head and no strength.
