So for the second season running we have just Avoided relegation by the skin of our teeth
Things need to change now
Otherwise we are looking at this every season
Imho Marti is the way forward for next 2-3 years To create stability at the club and exciting football
Eze needs to go to Man City for Qpr to evolve again As Chair will not be going anywhere apart from Wearing hoops to wearing arrows on his strip
Imperative we keep Cook Fox Colback Field Dunne Haden They are the spine of the whole team and why we stayed up Without these players we were down

lots of players will be off in the summer and some of them like adomah and dozzell are on a decent wedge.
suspect a couple of others will be off for fees too. dykes has to go, hopefully he has a sensational euros so we can get a fee for him.
we have a spine of a team and tbh only really need to bring in a couple of players to drastically improve the side.

Wouldn’t be in the least bit surprised if we beat Leeds.
With regards to next season though, just need to make sure we get the recruitment right, (2 proper strikers and a keeper) and done early.
I for one don’t think I can stomach another season like this. Thought after the previous one we would have turned a corner, but we appear to have doubled back! It’s been a thoroughly depressing 16 months or so. Just haven’t enjoyed it at all.

I think that going through the tough times Makes the supporters come together as a club Yes its a nightmare but look at the support Over the last 10 games sold out most games It’s who we are really im afraid Hard work but fans desperate for success Brights

tbh i've quite enjoyed the rollercoaster of this season. started out VERY shit but marti pulled off the great escape, has had us playing some good football and brought good vibes back to the club. atmosphere has been the best it's been in years, we have some players we can be proud of and we no longer have that air of uncertainty hanging over the club like last year.

Next season - assuming we don’t get caught this - I don’t want to hear any crap about ‘consolidating’ or ‘aiming to finish mid-table’. How do you do that anyway? Play to win, see where we get. Get to 50 points then throw the kitchen sink at it. None of this ‘not good enough’ to go up, get to the money and build the Club - see Luton. Once safe, fans would buy into giving it a go. Much better than lots of pointless games towards the end of the season.

even without the eze sale i imagine we'll have some funds available. a few of the higher earners are out of contract and a few others will be sold. if we can sort out our 3 key areas for next year which is hayden on a permanent, a new GK and striker we should be good. throw in a couple of loans and free transfers for depth and competition and we'll be shaping up quite well tbh. we'll probably look abroad for our key signings. Hope you are right and agree re priorities. Would just caution that Hayden alone would probably take up the slack wages-wise from Albert, Dozzell etc. A half decent striker is still probably the one position that even in the modern Championship it is hard to get on a free, and that will be the challenge and also take up a huge amount of any modest budget. Might end up being a prem striker on loan, and I can already imagine this message board all summer as this might well be late in the window. On a positive I rate our attacking three midfielders probably more than a lot of posters. None have been at their best but if we retained all three and had a decent target man I think their assists - and willingness to sling balls into the box - would increase considerably. Where they do need to improve is move far quicker to support the striker, as if you play a lone striker and the next player is 20 yards further back or out on the wing then tbf to Dykes a lot better striker than him is going to really struggle.

Longstaff will have a load of interest and I imagine command a reasonable fee - not sure how much (if anything) we will have to spend this summer?

Reckon we will have to offload a few to spend some money, and hopefully if Eze does go to City that money will be made available to Marti too. As for expectations, I expect nothing but hope for a top half finish next season.

We'd get four years out of Hayden. We really ought try to get him. He'd be the Derry in a promotion chasing team.

It's incredible that people who were panicking about our status a couple of weeks ago are now assuming that we're safe.
I seriously doubt MCif shares that view. I need to hear the fat lady, I need the maths to prove that the job has been done.

Lol, we are not safe yet. 50/1 to be relegated on bet365... #justsayin Of course, I don't want us to be relegated. It more about how we as supporters have spoken about the players being complacent, so why should we? On the other hand; it`s not wrong to be optimistic or a glass half full kind of person.

You can see all these players want to play well for their manager. That's clear for the whole squad not just the starting 11, as we've seen today. A dead rubber of a game but still everyone of them looked totally committed right up to the final whistle. Team spirit and unity looks really healthy. Bodes very well for next season.

We should try to get Hayden, but I just wonder how he would cope physically playing every game because If his wages would be relatively high we need to get 90 minutes out of him every week. Hayden (if he stays), Field, EDB, Colback plus one more CM. That's 5 DMs competing for two places. That would suffice for me.

Rotating the squad. different options too which we've somewhat started this season. agree on another CM but would like a more energetic or ball playing CM as an option as our current 3 main ones are all of a similar vein.

Lot of focus on who we would like to get rid of and also who we would like to bring in.
Just as crucial is who gets taken from us. If Chair, Willock, Hayden and JSC all go/ go down in Chair’s case, we suddenly look a v poor squad.
Could cost quite a lot of money to simply get us back to where we were, let alone strengthened. And the only one there we could prob pick up a fee for would be JCS.
