Wonder if this is why we brought in the young Scottish centre back because we think JCS will be off.

Got be 7 or 8mil minimum imo. He’s a rolls Royce defender. Anything less then that and we have to stack clauses so we get it one way or the other.
Wolves started our decline few years back with the Beale interest so payback time.

Am a big JSC fan so not knocking him one tiny bit - BUT there is only money for selling to Prem clubs as Champ transfer market has collapsed so he is one of our very few sellable assets. If we get a 6m offer personally I think given his fragility and that we got him for free and that we have a replacement in the building, Noury will be to the Wolves CEO “can you just sign here, here and here on the 6m deal. Thank you so much.” Best not be too greedy but have a sell on clause and hope his knees survive

No smoke without fire but as usual it is sounds a bit like clickbait or agent winding up the fee naming a list of other potential buyers some of whom would be a joke. The only semi serious note is Stoke but why on earth would JCS want to go to Stoke when he can go straight to the PL with Wolves.
It states Stoke were interested in the 5 to 7 million price range and while 6 million sounds a lot of money to us fees to join a PL club are much higher so I would say we should be looking fort least 10 million - maybe 6 or 7 up front with add ons for number of appearances (Covers injury fears for Wolves) and a sizeable sell on clause. If here are more than one club interested it can only help in a bidding war but then we do not know if JCS has a release clause and Wolves just picked up 40 million on one sale so they can afford a couple of million extra. Well worth them to pay that as JCS if he stay injury free could develop further into a top PL defender.
What would be interesting is if Wolves have a decent striker they could loan to us for a season with them picking up most of his wages as part of a swap deal. Their web site names 6 first team strikers and 5 development strikers (including Tyler Roberts - no thanks)

To be fair he has only had one good season. Stan
Injured most of the time and we do all believe
Our players are better than they actually are
7 million snatch their hand off
Re build give Marti the money to create

Yeah I’d bite their hands off just because of previous injury history. Phenomenal player but he’s only one Injury away from being worth nothing. It’s a mistake we’ve made time after time and selling at the right time is paramount. Heart and head decision as I love him as a player but we need dough to reinvest. Won’t be any complaints from me providing we get good money. Picking up for free and selling at a huge profit is exactly the business we should be doing

WLS also saying that he is not coming to QPR - not one of the manager's targets! Oh well it filled a bit of time! So was it all clickbait, were we outbid, was he never a target, or maybe another target has agreed to sign for us. We will never know. There are many things we are no longer allowed to know under the current regime: 1) The squad for Spain until 5 days after they arrived 2) That we had signed Morrision and Santos with Santos's wife posting photos of Big Ben and linking to QPR, the pair even travelling to Spain. Much later we announce it. 3) The duration of new contracts 4) The team line-up for the Farnham games until three days after the event. I think some of it is commercially sensitive, but generally a bit daft. Chair gets sentenced Thursday week, perhaps we will ask the judge to keep the punishment secret as well.

Thordason signed a 3 year deal with PNE - said to have cost about £750k. If he only has one good game for them, it is sure to be against us at Loftus Road. LOL

Agree some of it seems a bit daft but also I think we are trying to be whiter than white on some things plus keeping the lid on some things commercially. Too often in the past we seen WLS "announcing" a signing only for another club to be alerted and jump in to snatch a player from under our noses. Santos needed a visa, work permit and international clearance plus the usual medicals etc so to announce him too soon or to announce sending him to join the squad when he is not officially our player or approved to live or play in the UK would be premature. So we announced their signings and then followed that an hour later with the squad announcement. I wonder if Santos and his wife were told to cut it out when they posted their London photo early. As it turned out Santos and Morrison were announced and joined the squad "subject to international clearance" which is the last step of the process and means the clubs and players have all agreed Length of contracts is frustrating as we like to know and I can only think it is designed to stop the clickbait that all players see and can be unsettling. JCS as an example seems happy with us but then read comments on here about him being a crop, one injury away from a breakdown, cash in on him now etc. Sure agents know and can still trawl names around but the more we can control that the better. Re Chair, (I know you are being lighthearted) but Belgian judges do not make announcements - that is left to any press who turn up to listen so expect five different versions to appear on different sites before we find out the real verdict - it's an appeal not just a sentencing last I saw.

10 million asking price being quoted from various sources but how they know is another question.
At 26 he still has good years in front of him, he is PL quality so 10 million is more than reasonable especially considering Wolves just got 40 million for a similar level player.
Also reported we are still after Hayden and he wants to come but his wages are still a block as Newcastle are playing hardball with him. Apparently been told he will have to train with the Under 21's until he finds a new club but on those wages I doubt and Championship Club can afford him and he is a fringe level PL player.
Just shows the gulf between PL and Championship finance.

As this is the Fantasy Island board lets try a bit of fantasy. First a fact. Willock has gone, wanted a fee to stay more money and a release clause and not wanting to play Marti's style or do what he was being asked to do. So we rightly showed him to Paddington. Cardiff hardly a step up and their fans will tear him apart if he starts playing the same ego games there. Must say I really loved Nourrys post. About time clubs stopped bowing down to these players.
Now the fantasy. 1. JCS goes to Wolves for 10 million. Still leaves us with Santos Cannon Dunne Cook Fox Paul Larkarche and Morrison - so we add one more JCS replacement - quite a few names around at home and abroad and cheap or free compared to strikers.
2. Midfield is short so we sign Varane to play end to end through the middle. 3 million euro from the JCS 10million quid leaves us plenty of change. Marti will know all about Varane who has been playing lower league Spanish football - but lower league Spanish leagues are the B teams of the big boys where they learn the game and tactical play that Marti will want.
3. Pick up winger maybe the guy from Fulham but plenty of others are available
4 Use a bit more of the JCS money to get a striker or 2.
5. Eze gets sold after the euros and puts us in good FFP shape for a couple of years or money to strengthen the squad for a push in January
All Fantasy and I expect lots of nay sayers but it is taking shape.

You ought to be adding Henry Hawkins to the defensive options but something seems to have gone wrong there. Looked decent a year ago at Wimbledon, covered well and could pass the ball. A year on seems like our ‘player development’ might be questioned. Now Palace have sold Olise I doubt they’re breaking their necks to sell Eze. Midfielders are all very well but unless Frey surprises us or Armstrong has a remarkable upturn in talent (Donkey is what Donkey is……4 years) it’s goals that will be our problem. We don’t/can’t know everything but it doesn’t look like we’re looking for a striker - no rumours.
