Chair not featured in any pre-season games yet unless I missed it. Bad back apparently - or avoiding injury for a move? Played both games in Spain. Scored one in the first and a hat-trick in the second Thanks - I missed that

Scot fans reaction to Dykes after their last couple of qualifiers was very similar to ours. I think someone posted on here but I can’t be arsed to look back.

Varane in, Dykes out to rangers would be a good move. Probably close to a wash on the transfer fees if we can get rangers to give us 2 million for Dykes. Surprised they would buy anyone from us after conning them into giving us 1.5million for Mr Bean. Chair not featured in any pre-season games yet unless I missed it. Bad back apparently - or avoiding injury for a move? The Varane transfer is drawn out. I was surprised to read that Colback is 35 in October, I knew he was 'senior' but at 35, how many starts will he get this season? So I guess that Varane is a pretty important need for the spine of the team. Presumably, Celar will get some game time today at Reading. Be interesting to see if Paal, Dykes and Chair feature today. Find it hard to take the Dykes to Rangers tale seriously. It reads like clickbait, and probably is clickbait. Everyone seems to have forgotten Field on this board…?

See what you mean but I think most would agree he should be one of the first names on the team sheet so he does not get mentioned much but he needs a partner. I think the focus especially in the vital roles in central midfield is we need strength in depth especially with the match schedule. Colback is getting on although he seems fit when he is not injured if you see what I mean, but he is also a red card waiting to happen. Dixon Bonner as yet not proven, Andersen and Chair and that's it apart from the young signings. An injury and suspension and we are a bit short. Ideally we should have 2 players for every position but realistically we may have to depend on versatility and switching formations. The big challenge is getting a balanced depth to the squad without blowing the budget....and a striker.

Well it seems Chair not in the squad for Reading. Paal starts Frey up front with Dykes and Celar on the bench.

Dykes out to rangers would be a good move. In our dreams. My problem with Dykes going anywhere is that everyone uses data to quantify the product on offer. And his career stats are just woeful. So I'd be amazed if anyone in the top two tiers took him, even back to Scotland where he has fam and some support. Also think Beale disabused GRs supposed interest in him. I guess stranger things have happened but we may all need to accept we're still stuck with him, until January at the very least.

You might be right - but then what stats did Armstrong have going for him (bar as a hundred meter sprinter or boxer)? Of course Bristol took the view that he has potential whereas with Dykes its stretching credibility to say he is going to develop all that much more.

JCS should really only be sold if eze doesn't leave palace. one of the best CB's in the league, £7m is probably a fair price for him but no way should we sell him for a fair price if eze does get sold lol.

Hopefully Nourry is able to get the funds together to help Marti get those attacking players, we badly need them.

he’s going isn’t he? We’re going to make one ‘big’ sale so it’s him or Chair. With the lad from Germany, Dunne, Fox, Cook and maybe Hawkins I suppose it makes sense. Shame though, class. Good to watch.

Good to watch. An offer for 7m for any of our players and Christian will be “I’ll send him in a taxi now.” Reading between the lines of those Marti quotes, he is desperate for attacking reinforcements but the ceo is saying we need to get money in first - Celar couldn’t have been cheap

Not that long ago he had earned the name Glass-Salter. Tip of the cap to the Rangers training staff, who enabled him to reach fitness and sustain it. Also many cheers to him for his guts and determination to show his talents.

I must admit that I was surprised that Larkeche was on the move, I was more expecting a Paal story. But it may well be that Paal is also off. There has obviously been a discussion between Marti and Christian about Paal being on his last year and not signing a new contract that prompts the question 'can Larkeche step up if Kenneth goes?'. If the answer back from Marti is 'no' then we are better off setting him free. I read one report that said that if the loan to Dundee falls through then we will try to sell him. But for me, he was useful as an impact sub, running forward as a winger, but his defending was always suspect. So probably the right decision. If they both go, we will have someone else lined up, it is our way now. The current vibes are that without a sale, the purse strings are very tight. The negotiation for Varane has been lengthy. I guess all we can do is generate stories of interest in Clarke-Salter, with £8m required, being the main message. The Eze situation has been quieter, perhaps he is on holiday after the Euros. If so, hurry home please, and choose a new kit... But the whole Summer window is frustrating. Prem teams starting later, returning to training later, enjoying overseas tours, making late decisions on who to loan out. That impacts badly on Championship clubs, and it knocks on down the pyramid, leading to Sky's barmy last 24 hour coverage. Spanish media reporting Varane as a done deal now. sportwitness.co.uk/queens-park-rangers-qpr-sporting-championship/#google_vignette
