Great day. Shame about the result.
Brilliant walking around the ground early when it was virtually deserted, thinking about how much had gone on since last time we were in the top league.
Then of course, the “No Points Deduction”!! 😂
After the laps of honour and several pints and cigars, I recall (just about), leaving the C&S and heading towards O’Donohues to meet up with JFR, only to have that scuppered by a glassing shutting it down. So shuffled off to some pub in Hammersmith to have a drink with Shamie and his Mrs.
Expensive taxi to Victoria, followed by an even more expensive one from Gatwick, having fallen asleep on the train and missed connection.
Luckily the wife was away that weekend and didn’t get to witness me in a good mood!
