Kim Milton Nielsen was good, but you guys probably won't have the best memories of him.

For some reason I quite liked Antonio Miguel Mateo Lahoz. Crazy character, took no shit from players.

An utter cunt of a ref. And not just for that.
The worst refs make it all about them. The best refs are invisible.

With his height he had problems with that part. What else did he do that you didn't like? He is eg. voted 4th on this ranking list: www.iffhs.com/posts/2601

And disallowed a perfectly legitimate winner from Sol Campbell. Have dodgy penalty for both sides. Other than that had a good game! 😉

I used to coach my son's team (the same son who walked down to Loftus Road with a picture of Lord Kinnock a few weeks ago for the Preston match) between the ages of 6 and 12 (when parent politics got too stressful and I quit...). It was always the home team's responsibility to provide a qualified referee. We were playing away at the mighty Ridgeway, no referee was supplied and their coach 'volunteered' to referee the game. He was unbelievably, blatantly biased towards his own team. Blew offsides against lino's opinion, gave fouls against us for nothing, let fouls against our boys go, but we were still winning. He added an inordinate amount of time to the end of the game for absolutely no reason - the game just kept going and going. Then their team attacked, one of our defenders put a simple block in on a shot, didn't even make contact with the attacker - penalty, from which they equalised. Their boys were shaking their heads saying it was never a penalty and that the ref, their coach, was embarrassing. Don't know his name, but I'd nominate the Ridgeway Ref every time. It must be Jan Smit - he's obviously working in the Netherlands as a professional referee these days... This story has been being widely reported in the last few days: A Dutch referee Jan Smit has been banned for life after he was spotted celebrating a team's (whose game he had just refereed), title win.
Smit refereed the fourth division game between St. George and SV De Valken, handed out FOUR red cards to SV De Valken and added 15 minutes of added time for no apparent reason.
St. George scored the eventual winner in added time, gifting them the title.
The referee was then seen joining league champions St. George on stage, singing songs and lifting the trophy, shouting "Champions!" and lifting/waving the trophy.

(the same son who walked down to Loftus Road with a picture of Lord Kinnock a few weeks ago for the Preston match) And the reason for that.....?Just curious. From the Preston match thread... Has the feel of our 2007 meeting with Cardiff, under John Gregory - also in late April, and also with us threatened by relegation. Walked to the ground from White City station with my (then) little lad, chatting to Neil (Lord) Kinnock, who was going to the game (though more of a Swansea fan). Hope the result is the same - a 1-0 win to us, which secured our Championship status. You must do that walk again, with big lad, while holding a photo of Kinnock.I will be bringing my smudge set to the lower loft to dispel any unwanted spirits, General will be wearing his tea towel on his head and captain jack will be wearing his boxers back to front. Stan will be getting out of bed on the left side and 77 will continue to wave his fists at the clouds. It’s time to pull out all the stops, lads…… even the superstitious ones. Come on rangers, we are going to win this. Haha, yes... the big lad is coming too on Saturday Didn't think about a picture of Kinnock - will print one out and bring it with me Sorted.
