yeah so we seem to be wearing the yellow / gold away. Thought the black as seen in this thread was away?
Anyway back when Al was a nipper you only changed kit if there was a clash, we'd never play blades in anything other than the hoops.
Now its kit on an off like a tart's knickers. That's the power of marketing / merch I guess.
Be good to have a worst kit ever thread, open to all examples from all clubs, could include Wembley suits as wll as the shirt, etc etc etc

Coventry’s brown one sticks in the mind. Who on earth thought that brown was a good colour for a football kit?😂

Coventry’s brown one sticks in the mind. Who on earth thought that brown was a good colour for a football kit?😂 Ian Wallace made it look really shit. All Arsenal kits have been dreadful since about 1980. That classic red body, white arms, white collar, red cuffs was the business. And all kits have been shit since advertising was brought in. Including the Guinness shirt. Bit me.

So there It was only a 2 all draw but that performance by him that bank holiday game? was monumental in ensuring we won the league that season...

Blue shorts as the home kit in Tango's first full season as chairman was an abomination imo
Only ever saw us wearing them away with the home shirt against Arsenal away which made sense

Re the celtic hoops they were first worn buy us in 1896, as Al will confirm - ie before Celtic adopted them.
I liked the strip for that reason. Also liked the old red and black away quartered shirt, and the light blue dark blue hoops which was also a tribute to our original strip.
we need a few pix of the abominations, Rs or non R

Why we did not play in the hoops is another question - probably money if we have committed to sponsors to wear the other kits a minimum number of games per season. Bet we already have a schedule worked out for the whole season of which games we will wear which kit - that's advertising these days.

When I first started going to games at Loftus Road we played in plain white shirts with dark blue shorts and the only sign of hoops for a while was on the blue socks. Who else on here remembers seeing that one?

Who else on here remembers seeing that one? When was that, Robin? My first game 23rd September 1957 - Third Division South game beat Millwall 3-0 at home not that I remember much about the game. But never forget my uncle walking me up the stairs from the street in the middle of the old single level Loft as it used to be, and seeing the green early season pitch for the first time. One of my earliest memories that sent a tingle down my spine - hooked from that moment on.

Unfortunately my "attendance" these days is remote with technology (when Sky are not mucking about) as I can no-longer make it to the ground. Maybe a good thing that I cannot make it there now but I can live with all the happy memories during good times and bad and hope there will be more to come.

My favourite away kit were the read and white squares - classy.
Second would be the red and black hoops. If you are known for your hoops, as we are, surely you would incorporate them into the away kit too.
The current away kit reminds me of the diarrhea brown you used to see on crappy 1970s British Leyland cars.
