At work today Mixed messages Did we create alot of chance but just could not finish them which is annoying but at least we are creating them Eg played very well but couldn’t finish Or Was it a lacklustre performace though out Poor day at the office The first. Anyone saying the opposite is just disappointed at the result. Best game for a while. Not being able to score, however, is worrying. But we never used to create chances. Today we had chances galore. Well done, Paul Smyth. You made things happen as you usually do. One on one first half have to score those. |

We found 2 good players in Madsen and Dembele who was electric today and will only get better They were class 73. Was disappointed with the Korean fella but hope he comes good He will be ok, Dembele needs to given the ball at all times as he has the ability plus he moves the ball very quickly. His first 5 minutes was unreal for a home debut. Nice to have a player who can take a set piece as well |

Smyth for me for all his effort is just in the same league as a player as the new boys. Impact sub at best as just too predictable

I got what I asked for. Dembele and Saito on the field from the start. That went well. Once Chair is back, the creativity and on the ball movement we will have will be something we have not seen in a loooong time.
Yeah, there was a TON of missed opportunities. The score could have easily been 4 or 5 to 1. It just didn’t go our way today. There will be days it does.
On that note, and even the commentator pointed this out on a number of occasions, wait until all the players get used to each other. They are still in the process of sorting this out. By the end of September, we will look MUCH better.

Would love to hear the 4th official’s justification for only 4 minutes added time. Last season it would have been 7 or 8 minutes and any other season at least 5. Might not have changed the result but you’ll never know if it’s not added.

thought it was a good game. dembele is an electric player and will only get better, so direct and has the ball glued to his feet.
madsen looked good too, some lovely touches from him but my god someone needs to teach him how to head the ball and put a tackle in. very weird player lol.
think celar is getting some unfair stick. had 4 shots today but they were all hard shots to pull off under pressure and with tight angles so the fact he made a decent effort of each one is reassuring to me.

We’ve got a lot of new players. Whilst today is frustrating, most important thing is do we think that with the new players we are going to improve on next season? I think Celar will come good.

Just back from pub.
Good performance disappointing result.
Liked look of Madsen looks composed but he was smashed few times so that will be some eye opener to him of what to expect in championship.
Lovely to have dembele who can actually take a set piece and whip it in!! How long before we coach that out of him 😁
Frey put a shift in and is very vocal.
I’m not a Smyth fan as your all well aware but thought he done ok today and looked better on the left then right what really infuriates me is his diving. He beats man and instead of putting ball in keeps carrying it until he’s nearly ran out of pitch and is closed down then throws himself to pitch looking for foul. Beat man and deliver the ball please.
Field looked more like himself today.
Celar suppose he was there to miss them which is an improvement on what’s gone before but he could have had a hat trick in the time he was on the pitch. Perhaps not sitters but surely had to be hitting the target.
For a ref who sent off two of the opposition I thought he had a poor game. Was ok for first 15mins then just went to shit.

ref was dreadful lol. completely lost control of the game and desperately tried to make up for it time and time again but kept missing the mark. gave free kicks that weren't free kicks, didn't give free kicks that were free kicks and struggled to utilize advantage.
dreadful ref for both teams.

Missed the Frey goal as I rocked up outside the ground when he scored...
Thought Plymouth were very good pressing us and were dangerous looking, there goal was a peach, bit of luck that it was set up for him...
When there player got sent off it threw the game our way and throwing on another striker at half time wasn't unreasonable ....
A pity Dykes wasn't on the bench but I suspect Marti saying he wasnt "available" after the match will make some happy on here...
We threw the garden sink at them... The injury time given was bizarre but there goalie was inspired and I doubt we would have got a winner
The second sending off was a high risk, high reward move... If our player had bottled, it was likely he would have stolen the ball and likely mugged us off for three points ...
He was given a hug and a consoling word by Rooney unlike the idiot who nearly lost them the game ..
A lot to like tonight, frustrating we didn't win and a pity there are some on here constantly looking for scapegoats

Abysmal result. Smyth and Saito offer nothing. Frey, despite the goal, you can't pass the ball to him as his touch is too hard. Celar doesn't know where the goal is. Any chance to win the game was gone when Kolli came on. Only positive: We finally have a decent corner taker.
