Exclude the top six from this competition. That way it'd be enjoyable. And we would appreciate a competitive cup. It would be the first step in throwing those Globalist fucks out of all English football.

It would be the first step in throwing those Globalist fucks out of all English football. The EFL had that choice. They rejected it. The main argument was that tier three and four clubs desperately needed income from big boy ties inc media rights dosh. Personally, I think there were better ways of sorting it out, but the EFL, FA and Premiere League have not served football well when it comes to dividing the cake. Not just the league cup, but the trickle down in general. The football governance bill was in the King's Speech and will hopefully get to grips with some of the general issues. BTW anyone remotely interested in how the game is run should read this

GOOD! Let them fuck right off. Rather the competition is 'devalued' without them. At least it would be honest and real. just pointing out the reality. The EFL's part in this sorry mess should not be underplayed. No argument there Hal.

Or bin the prem clubs totally and just have the other 72 league teams fighting it out would be better tbh. we already have the FA vase for non league sides and the EFL/papa johns cup for the league 1 and 2 sides so why not a competition that league sides can actually get invested in? it's part of the reason why i don't particularly care about cups. we're never gunna win one, cup runs are nice and all but what is a cup run? a quarter or semi final then getting pumped by man city?

Or bin the prem clubs totally and just have the other 72 league teams fighting it out we're never gunna win one tell that to Coventry three months ago. They were that close. Great final btw. When we won this competition we were rank outsiders as late as 45 minutes before the final whistle. If you don't play the big boys ever, you have nothing to aspire to.

EFL only and you’d never get the sponsorship etc. Just say if you qualify for Europe you can’t play League Cup.

Would be exciting if the Prem clubs were excluded. All the other clubs would be genuinely excited that they could actually win something. I do take Hal's point, but since we won the League Cup - and Oxford tanked us in the Milk Cup final - the gulf has grown really huge between the top of the Prem and the likes of us. Realistically what are odds of us winning the current trophy? 1000/1?

However, they took the eventual winners as close as you can get in that semi. That says to me that it is possible for a tier 2 club to reach either the EFL or FA final. The fact that it doesn't happen often makes it sweeter when it does. I don't want the Poundstrecher Challenge Cup for everyone outside the prem.

Don't exclude the PL. Just those top six wankers. And from the FA cup too.

agree semis should be neutral ground that’s taken shine off FA Cup so many top league grounds semis could be at

This cup is becoming more and more of a joke. Manipulated draws, shitty prize money, all for a chance for the lesser premiership lights to get more money from a Europa Cup place. Ah the magic of the cup.
