Shades of the FA Cup quarter final when Clive stuck the winner in about two minutes from time and ran up the other end to the Palace fans to tell them exactly what he thought of them.
My brother was dancing up and down so excitedly in the Loft (all standing then) that his front teeth got knocked out in the melee.
Somehow can't see our cup run being quite as glorious this time. Infact this might be it.

Could be worse Chelsea or Fulham would have brought in some cash- we may even get a 10k crowd - if Eze plays. Think we will need our strongest team on song to get through this regardless of who palace field
On the other hand time we pulled off a cup shock and went on a run - the further we go the more the match winning fee goes up so a good run could buy us a new player in January

The most suspicious of results I have ever attended... really surprised there was not a major investigation. But thanks for the memory Palace anyway!

Cannot quickly think of any since, but I'm sure someone will put me right.

Would rather have been drawn against a big team. No real excitement other than to see Eze not celebrate when he scores.
If we lose to Palace, which I am sure we will, it'll be meh...

hardly seems worth it, most clubs will lose money in the first rounds as they will have near empty stadiums but all the costs of opening it,

Listening to a discussion on this earlier. Apparently, the League Cup only came about in the 60’s to help out the bigger clubs who exited the FA Cup early. Don’t know if there’s any truth to it, but if so, we shouldn’t be that surprised they are still getting away with things nowadays.
