13 days until our next match so due to the fact we lost away to Derby yesterday (unsurprisingly) I really can't be asked to read this board between now and then.... It's doom and gloom and life's too short I've decided instead to read the 442 Stan Bowles great footballers book by Steve Bidmead from 2002... A different take of my heroes exploits in the 70s to his "official" bio and I enjoyed the bit where in Steve's notes he mentioned an old pro wanted £250 for a 20 minute conversation about Stan.... (Why do I think Don Shanks was that old pro... "Pricey" was his comment  ) It looks worth a read from the notes so far and you can find it on eBay as there is no kindle version to download 😢... terrible game. first england game i've been too and it was woeful.
didn't really enjoy the experience either tbh, really puts supporting us into perspective. tourists and plastics everywhere mixed together with massive commercialisation. atmosphere was awful, i think even our crowds under JFH could rival tonight's in terms of passion.
greek fans were great though and probably the best thing about the match but it's still rather embarrassing when 70k+ home fans are being outsung by 3k away fans.
best thing about the night was that i didn't get a parking ticket.

I’ve just gotten so bored/disinterested in England since El Tel in the 90’s.
We’ve had some seriously dull/shite managers since then.
Even with a kind of revival of sorts under Southgate, I've never got that buzz back about watching them.
There’s absolutely no comparison in the sense of anticipation, excitement or jeopardy between England v Greece at Wembley or QPR away on the clichéd wet Tuesday night in Stoke...
