Another home game, another team in poor form....not that this seems to matter to us!

Fortunately unable to see that game yesterday Just endured the extended highlights on the office...dismal, inept showing Therefore, perversely, going for a solid win with Alfie bagging a brace.

Get JCS and Colback back from injury asap.
Hold on for dear life until January the 1st when we pull out all the stops to re-sign Isaac Hayden, as someone on another thread says.
Otherwise we could be doomed!

Robins falling out with the away end yesterday so not all is well.
We’re so desperate to stop the rot think would take the point now. We’re desperate, no one fancies us so typical QPR will be surprise win play out of our skins before returning to type.

Nardi Dunne Cook JCS Santos Morgan Field EDB Saito Frey Lloyd Meltdown if we lose. 4231 has works for us and as long as Madsen isn’t one of the hiding midfielders, I think we should stick to it. Nardi, Dunne, Cook, JCS, Paal Varane, Field Saito, Madsen, Chair Frey

Nardi, Dunne, Cook, JCS, Paal Varane, Field Saito, Madsen, Chair Frey That Varane and Field pairing explains why we have been so shit. We might get away with Field and Colback, but it's the two in the middle that have been our problem. Time and again. It hasn't worked well.

gone for a loss as can’t see any fight in this team.
If JCS, Varane and Saito start and Chair gets back some form could possibly steal a point

Nardi Dunne Cook JCS Santos Morgan Field EDB Saito Frey Lloyd Meltdown if we lose. 4231 has works for us Not for me it doesn't, because it doesn't suit the players available. 4-3-3 encourages quicker ball, and switches to 4-5-1 without it, thus strengthening up the middle of the park. 4-2-3-1 we get eaten alive by an organised press.

Surely this would work When you need points it’s back to basics 4-4-2
Solid team this imo

I don't think 4-4-2 is considered going "back to basics" for Spanish coaches, Gens.

I think that team would bring in a few valuable points Stan the existing formation does not work also 2 up front
We need to cause other teams more trouble Play both up front
4-4-bloody 2

Saito looks like he could fill that role. Nippy and based on last couple of games looks capable of taking on a full back. Would maybe need to go on the right though, to suit his stronger foot.

Well, Argentina won the last world cup playing 4-4-2 and Unai uses it at Villa. In fact a lot of sides go 4-4-2 ball lost plus it transitions fairly seamlessly into other set ups. Like 4-3-3 for example.
I'd prefer us to go 4-3-3 with the ball and 4-5-1 without it.
