Middlesbrough's form is stuttering. We seem to have steadied the ship. So on paper, we've definitely got a chance to record our first home win of the season. If Frey and JCS are available, that might make us wafer-thin favourites. Equally, if Celar has survived that horrible tackle, I could see him scoring his first goal for us. One thing's for certain: I don't think there will be fireworks.

If and it's a big if we can replicate the performance we put in against Sunderland I can see us getting that much needed win.

Someone posted a week or two ago that Smyth used to play left side and cut in for Orient. It got him playing well and a few goals. If we must persist with him try that. Sounds like a bit one-trick which will get sussed quickly at this level but he achieves nothing so what’s to lose?

If we follow our series of draws with a win the mood will be really lifted - and it will look like we have turned the corner after the long run of defeats.
But if we follow those draws with a loss, then its going to be god knows how many games without a win and only one league win all season it will start to look a bit desperate.
