Tired of QPR, tired of life?
Just can’t get that passionate about QPR this season.
Not even angry when we lose.
Next away game might not even follow it on a stream.
Just think there are other things to do.
This site is small but it seems like the hardcore of the hardcore. So admire the dedication of those that follow us away.
Be interested to hear if the intensity of your support has remained constant thru the years or has it ebbed and flowed?
I was probably most passionate about the club from about 11 to 17 then discovered girls and going out, plus went away to uni.
In my early 20s was lucky enough to have a girlfriend who had supported QPR since birth.
Then turned 30, married (to someone else), had children and became an armchair fan for a few years.
Got back into it towards the end of the Paladini years and have been really into it, ups and downs (mainly downs) ever since, tho I did have a wobble during the Ainsworth year as from the get go just thought everything he was doing would just have to be ripped up and done differently.
Am now starting to feel equally disengaged - this time though the difference is I don’t honestly know how you fix this. With Ainsworth it was obvs we were on the wrong track. But if I am very honest the club is now being run more or less how I wanted it to be, with the kind of people I wanted in charge. And that’s been a bit of a disaster too. Any manager or CEO we get now will just be a new version of the kind of person we have tried before. A change would mean going round in circles.
So am all out of answers and think that is probably just making me shrug and think “nothing much anyone can do about this.”
Be interested to hear if other fans on here have had periods where they haven’t attended / felt that engaged. Or maybe you are all just a lot more loyal than me!

always enjoyed going but it is a slog and at times i only go for FOMO on a win lol. been plenty of times i've really had to motivate myself to go and on the drive home thought "why do i bother? could have had a nice chilled out day" lol.
past 3 years have arguably been the worst and most turmoiltuos of my time as a ST holder though. few short lived highs, great end to the season last year but more lows than highs and a team that is always the same old shit.
there has been times where i've genuinely looked forward to the prospect of relegation. a chance to rip up the team, start afresh, visit new grounds and actually play with some consistency. end of the day a wins a win and we'd have a lot more to cheer challenging for the league 1 title/play offs than we would finishing 18th in the championship.
i think the last truly entertaining season we had was in warbs seconds season when we had eze, BOS, hugill and wells just tearing up the league and scoring bags of goals along the way.

As a kid/young man I never missed home games but couldn’t afford many aways. As I got more prosperous I went to more games but also no longer minded putting other things - mostly holidays😁 - first. I retired a few years ago and going to football was important for male company and banter. We’ve had a lot of laughs, the match often secondary. Many a day out spoilt by Rangers😁

Very similar history to you Stains.
Avid young fan through my teens and early 20s.
Girls, motorbikes and work then got in the way, and I too came back in the Paladini years.
My son's first game was the play-off final against Cardiff, in Cardiff.
The two of us had several years as season ticket holders, but now only get to occasional games.
I thought we'd started something good when Warbs came in, and was very disappointed that he wasn't offered a new contract. Since then we've been a bit of a circus with Beale, Critchley and Ainsworth.
I really like Marti and think he can turn things round, as long as we can get our first team fit - and keep them fit.
But I'm certainly a little less interested/bothered about QPR recently - it's almost as if the club has beaten me into submission with so many 'false dawns'. After all, this was the season we were going to push on and think about possibly getting into the play-offs, wasn't it?
That said, if we're still in with a shout of surviving the drop come March/April, I expect I'll be biting my nails and sweating on results at 4.40 on Saturday afternoons again...

Not yet, but seriously pissed off....
1977-82 a regular home and often away. 1982-95 often working Saturdays when a student, going midweek. Then often AWOL, living abroad some of the time, only going odd games, and missing out on the Holloway years. 2010 onwards regular home, and away when things are going well. Lol.

Good thread.
My dad got me into qpr back in the late 80s.
87 to mid 90s staunch supporter and consistent attendance.
From the ray wilkins era, until 2010 I completely dropped off the radar as I discovered girls, drugs and booze. Got back into it from 2010 onwards. Last season was the most dedicated I have been since the Gerry Francis era.
I have the bug well and truly back, no matter how shit we are.

Got to say I'm feeling very much the same as most of the others on here.
Been going to Rangers religiously for 40 years now and don't miss more than five games home and away each season.
I've been ingrained in us not being successful and it's never really bothered me as it's just the way it is, but I've got to say the last few years have really extinguished my flame watching this club.
Nothing but misery, losing, shit performances, even worse fucking owners and all round incompetence just breeds negativity.
We used to laugh and say it was always a great day until the football started but now the day is not even that good because you just know it's gonna be shit.
For the first time in I don't know how long, I've enjoyed the international breaks.
Fucking club does my head in tbh.
If it wasn't for my 17 year old son who wants to go all over the place watching them I'd have probably knocked away days on the head.

Simialr sentiments to all above. I love Rangers & the socials that come with it, Leeds Saturday was a blinding day with some pals but the football just fucks it all up. Stood there in the stand at 1 point thinking I've done about 200 notes today with trains, match ticket, booze etc etc to watch this bollox. Does make you wonder.
Will never jack it in (well circumstances permitting of course) - but Rangers are certainly slipping down the pecking order of priorities. For the Stoke game as an example have a social groups catch up, I was going to meet them after the game but now I am just going to fuck off the game & have the day with my pals.
Depressing state of affairs really, especially considering we seem to have been in this state for a number of years continually now.

Years ago me and a few pals went to Stockport away in the cup. Game was absolutely dismal. Mate turned to me and said “the only bad bit about a day at the football is the 90 minutes in the middle “ and I’m afraid those sentiments still ring true today. I’ll carry on going but it’s getting harder to be bothered.

Never bored. Disillusioned, sad, upset, angry and losing hope. Update I am bored. Bored of all the incompetence, lies, shit decisions and a lot of fans who wont or cant say what they see. A lot of it is be positive crap. If the club was run 50% better we would not have half the problems. I am not bothered about being positive,i mean what is positive about being bottom of the league. Its a shit show from top to bottom and has been last 10 years or so. If some on here cant see it then God help them. Its a Micky Mouse club with at present a totally unqualified incompetent PR cunt at the helm PR which a lot dont want too see or are blinded by this bullshit.

Both me and my son are gonna miss the next home game due to family business up north....
I've usually found the international break a really ball ache but it's been a relief when the mood is so misrable
Been waiting for the mejah team to give us some "good news" this break but even they have seemingly learned to keep stumm this time... Last break? (or was it the one before) was Marti and Xavi, Dembele and JCS have all signed new contracts...
I've also noticed the likes of Clive from Loft for Words and WLS are all sharpening their knives for the current regime in charge... They really seem peeved their insiders are keeping completely stumm by Chairman Nourry as well...
I follow the Packers in the NFL so they tend to distract me from our poor perfomances on a Sunday, though the loss to the Lions last weekend did dampen my mood a bit!
I think the only reason I check the boards at the moment is to see if someone's jumped ship or been pushed before we get back to this misery

I'm increasingly bored/disinterested with 'elite' level football generally.
Gone are the days of loyalty to the club, whether by players, managers or owners.
The last time I felt a manager was truly 'our' manager, was Ollie in the early noughties. There's possibly a case to be made for Warnock (though he is, by his very nature, a footballing tart, able to convey his 'undying love' for any club he managers and their 'special' fans...), and maybe Warbs (who I still think we should have stuck with).
As for players, other than Uncs (a QPR fan), Eze (always grateful to QPR for giving him his break) and maybe Ale Faurlin, has there been anyone over the last 20 years who has been loyal in the slightest to the club?

It's been flat for a few years now , I go because I live near. Always meet a pal at Watford was hoping he didn't want to go this year but he does. Players don't seem that bothered and successive managers just spew out pathetic excuses for them .
