Rooney on the way to the championship as player coach.
Class signing imo - bloke is still a class player.

Oh, and on the game. Derby looked solid, but not impenetrable. Hope they fail again. Huddersfield vulnerable and wasteful. Hope they don´t get a grip until sometime next week.

Nah they won't struggle, still think they'll finish above us but it'll be a lot closer. They won't do as well as they have in recent years. They battered Brum on Saturday. Any other day that could've been a 6-1 win. not if they sell Maupay he’s there goal threat and there leaving it very late to replace him Maupay sold to B&HA for £20m. Watkins and Benrahma also look like they're going to PL clubs. Could be a difficult season if new signings don't settle. Just can't hold on to players once PL clubs come sniffing offering to triple a players wages!

In fairness to Brentford that’s there model. Get them in, build them up and sell them on, they have mastered it. It’s what we’re trying to implement, but we need start getting some of the fees they do

I agree with you.qprdk. Derby looked good, and played Huddersfield poor when they played the ball on the floor.

Rooney to Derby as player-coach, done deal according to TalkSport Smart signing by Derby. Rooney will still be a force at this level for another few seasons, and the media coverage this signing will get globally will be great exposure for the club.

Or Boro's chairman or FFP will finally catch up with them... and they'll be royally fucked.

Can’t think why anybody would pay Rooney to do anything other than play football. Doesn’t strike me as one to have the temperament.
I guess at least he might get some “privacy” in the Manager’s office, should he need it. 😂

Not sure I'd trust a salty Forest fan as the best source for information on the financial dealings of Derby County mate!

I'm just querying whether the 80k a week salary being quoted has come from a decent source. It seems a hell of a lot of money for a Championship side to be shelling out. I assume TalkSport were the ones who reported this number first?

Wayne Rooney off to Derby as player coach by all accounts.
Can't deny that would be a fantastic bit of business for them.

Simultaneously Morris has managed to land the largest ever sponsorship deal from their current shirt sponsors which will cover the cost of employing Shrek. How serendipitous eh? I thought that under FFP that any sponsorship deals had to be for fair market value. No other word for it, corrupt.

wait.
You could sign anyone, nominally whack him on the staff and he's FFP clear?
what with that (and the Brammel Lane scam) its clear that there are some sharper knives in the drawer our board and Hoos. But then we knew that.
Mind you, buying players on the way down (or paying them insane fees, or both) never works out. We know that too.
