He is class but I’m not sure I buy into this passing out from the back nonsense. Both our full backs had very poor games.

Threw it away. Lack of maturity all round.

WHAT a goal from Foden! Equally, what a ridiculous wild tackle from Choudhary to concede the second penalty. Shame to concede in the last minute, but some real talent in the England team.

Better to make the mistakes at that level so they have it perfected by the time they move up to the senior team. It depends on how you think England can/will win a major trophy ie Euros or World Cup. I personally don’t think we will ever win by playing possession keep ball football. That’s never been our style unlike Spain and say the Dutch. But we won’t win it playing long ball either. Short passes at the back? Not for me. Play direct quick accurate long passes and bring quick wide men into play. Defend in numbers, be physical and hit on the break, strong from set pieces. Let’s try to excel at what we are known for rather than trying to reinvent ourselves.

I don't see any problem with emulating what the successful sides are doing, both at national and club level. Maybe then it would lead to winning tournaments being what we excel at.

I’d say we haven’t excelled at what we’re good at. We’ve been rubbish from set pieces apart from last World Cup. Rubbish delivery and limited aerial threat. We’ve not played as a team, players haven’t known their roles, uncertain what our 1st team is, changing formation all the time....you can go on. We haven’t won playing our style because we’ve not played it well enough.

Why we let Aidy Boothroyd in charge of our best youngsters is beyond me.
