About to sign for Liverpool on a big money deal from Fulham. I found out this week that he started his youth career with us. Dropped the ball on that one, didn't we?!!

He is a 16 year old kid who has made two substitute appearances for Fulham in the 88th and 83rd minute plus one League Cup appearance. Most of that fee will be add ons. He is years off the Liverpool First Team

Our academy wasn't all that good at that time so it is more than likely that he and his parents decided he would be better served elsewhere. |

Our academy wasn't all that good at that time so it is more than likely that he and his parents decided he would be better served elsewhere. this. the only info on when he left is that he left at a very young age so he was probably around 8 years old or so i reckon. not a big deal at all imo, kids come and go at that age and as esox said, our academy was awful at that time so can you honestly blame him for wanting to leave? if my kid was in QPR's academy during the same period and fulham came in for him i'd jump at the chance for the sake of my kids career. its a complete non issue that he left. |

If you chaps read the whole thread, you'll see that I totally agree with you. Young players come and go. Some that look like they are going to be world beaters don't make it. Others that don't look like they will make it go on to play at the highest level. We've got plenty in our team that were discarded by other clubs and are now worth a few million quid.
My comment about him starting his youth career with QPR was simply an observation/trivia. I certainly wasn't digging the club out. Saying that we "dropped the ball" was a throw away comment, and not a gripe at the club!
