Where’s players like Paul smyth? Whys he not being involved. We’re not exactly blessed with pacey attacking players. Don’t get the deal with him

Nice calm reaction I like that.
Most interesting comment right at the end. Two or three coming in next few days and strikers on top. So could be looking at up to five more

Unless Smyth is injured we surely need to question if the lad is ready yet or as advanced as the fans think. Not really played by Ollie, not played by McLaren and not getting sniff pre season thus far.

I can't play the video for some reason. Again, it's a big overhaul and it hasn't finished yet, to hit the panic button now is fucking ludicrous.

Very poor tonight. No one shone.
Only positives for me were Shodipo second half. Some lovely deliveries.
Rangel looks fit as a fiddle.
Manning looking decent.
Negatives: Oteh useless. Cannot see this kid having a future with us. Just not up to the task.
Eze didn't put his stamp on the game at all.
Lumley made a couple of howlers. I think MW will plump for Kelly as his number 1
Pre season run out but unless we get some quality in this team will get battered regularly.

Looked like a player with tons of pace, which makes him standout, and really raw. Scored superb goal on debut which put him in the limelight but if I’m honest would struggle to comment on anything else he’s really contributed in the hoops. Not saying he won’t make it but dont think he’s as advanced in his career/game as many believe. Loan done him well last season Where is his best position I still can’t decide that

Someone said are they worried about pre season results. My answer is no.
Complete squad overhaul plus a new manager so all players are learning new things. I would happily lose 10 pre season games if it means we are fit and ready for the league.
Interesting that 'heated words' in the dressing room were said.

Mass is nowhere to be seen. Not even on the bench. Probably still on a plane somewhere.

Cheers Stan, I watched the video on Facebook anyway. Cant help but like Warby. Very calm, speaks a lot of sense. Interesting that it sounds like the players were given a rollicking.

Seems quite low to me to only have 4 proper friendlies. I still maintain that I'm not worried about how we fare in the friendlies as long as we have our game face on for when the league starts. Even then as you say, you can't just judge after a couple of games.

I think whether we can pick up a couple of strikers or not will be the difference between a good or a bad start to the season.
I'm sure we are trying to sign a few, but the harsh reality is if we go into the season with the option of Smyth or Oteh up front we are gonna struggle badly for goals.

Smyth or Oteh up front we are gonna struggle badly for goals. Hilarious, isn't it? Suddenly the best thing we're doing is out wide going forward and the one bloke who could really use that was found surplus to requirements. One in two strikers don't come in for chip money. I know you guys didn't rate him but getting rid of the big lad was an arrogant, stupid mistake.

Warburton clearly states we have a few small injury problem. These could include Wallace, Smith, Smythe, Leistner and Mass. Short of the club putting out a bulletin every day we don't know about everything. He has said we are trying to get 'the right type of strikers' but half the time this is ignored.

The player wanted to go and get regular games at Millwall and we wanted to get a fee for him rather than let him go for nothing in 12 months. The deal made sense from everyone's perspective. We will get a couple of strikers in mate. Possibly young lads on loan from the Prem. I'm confident whoever they are, they will be an improvement on Smith. Don't get me wrong, I like bit Smithy. But you're kidding yourself if you think he's good enough to be first choice striker at this level. If he wasn't happy being an impact sub then letting him go was absolutely the right thing for the club to do!

Great character but bang average at best footballer As Tarbie says anyone coming in who has a little Bit of movement will be improvement

I don't buy into the argument Smith is the right man to have playing up top with 2 out and out wingers. What you actually need if you are going 1 up top is a far more rounded striker who can make runs and turn a defender, as well as getting their head on stuff when required. In fact, when Smith played over the last few seasons the side had a tendency to go into a "lump it long" mindset, rather than utilising width and trying to whip crosses in. Smith is a target man, and nothing else. He does that part of the game very well, but everything else is pub standard. No athleticism or pace at all. I suspect Millwall have signed him as they are operating on a shoestring, and see route 1 football as their best hope of being competitive.

Modern game is about movement on and off the ball and dynamic bursts to get that extra yard all of which Smith cannot offer
Can’t think of many sides, who are doing well, that play with a lamp post
