Sorry to say guys but I think this is a very astute appointment. Few points. Chelsea are not in decline at all. They finished 3rd in the PL behind two fantastic sides & won the Europa League. That is not an unsuccessful season I'm afraid. Lampard has come at the best time ever for him, a transfer ban. He will have the pressure off & a ready made excuse if things didn't go to plan. After years of buying the very best youngsters in the world they'll finally now get to play them. Fans delighted, Lampard lauded. Jody Morris his number 2 has intimate knowledge of the youth set up after winning every trophy on offer when he was academy manager. Won the quadruple in his last season. Players will respect him & fans will give him time. My only reservation is experience. When you lose 3,4,5 on the bounce experienced managers who may have been through it before will draw on past experiences. I can't see where he will get this from although of course he has many old heads to call upon for advice. Personally I hope they lose every game. Hate the shit club but I do think the timing is spot on for both parties. As predicted fellas they are tearing it up. 6 wins on the bounce, 3rd in the league, youngsters flourishing, Spurs, Arsenal both shit, big players still to come back from injury, doing well in the CL. To say I'm gutted is an understatement. My son said today 'dad if they keep going and Liverpool slip up they could actually win the league under Lampard' Jesus christ no. Please don't let it happen. |

If you're Sterling, what would you do?
On £300k a week for the next 2 years.
Do you leave, and not get that but you get to play football again.
Stay and get paid but then be 31 by the time you play regularly again.
Plus, who takes him? I assume Chelsea won't sell for cheap and then it comes down to wages. If I were him, I think id be saying to Chelsea if you want me out, ill go, but you subsidise my wages.
