Of course mate, hindsight is 20/20. But we definitely took a big risk when we opted to remove any genuine competition for the starting 11.
That said, I don't think we'll go down, and I'm sure the likes of Chair and Smyth will come back better players as a result of their loan moves. I just feel we've made our lives overly difficult in the 2nd half of this season. And given our level of performance since January, I think those 2 lads in particular would have got game time here.

Think Chair and Smyth loans have worked out perfectly. They have got football, put there names out there and will come back fired up chomping at the bit to be regular next season

Surely if we feel we would have picked up a few extra wins in the 2nd half of the season with them in the squad, it's hard to describe sending them out as working out perfectly? This becomes even more true in the unlikely event that we get relegated.

We cannot have it both ways, They were sent out on loan and I agree with that completely as both will benefit from playing mens football. This would not be an issue had we won a couple of games between when they left and now.

I don’t think we would have picked up any extra points with them personally tarbs. They would have sat on bench like Manning who is a player who is in my view not good enough

Kilmarnock in talks with Queens Park Rangers' Niko HamalainenBy Richard Winton BBC Sport Scotland Kilmarnock are in talks with Queens Park Rangers left-back Niko Hamalainen about signing him on loan. The American-born Finland international has been with QPR for five years, and had loan spells with Dagenham & Redbridge and Los Angeles FC. Hamalainen, 22, would bring competition for left-back Greg Taylor after Calum Waters was loaned to St Mirren. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49374058

Gotta wonder if Niko really has a future with the club. Left back is a bit of a problem position at the moment, yet we've sent him out on loan for the season. Warburton clearly doesn't rate him!

Corbs, he's been 5 years with the club now. Played under 5 or 6 different managers. In that time he's had 3 league appearances and 3 cup appearances. Hasn't played in the league for 3 years now.
For me, its quite hard to fathom why we keep renewing a player with those stats. Probably better to let him go and find a club at a level where he can play games.

I saw Wheeler scored the winner for Wycombe the other day. Can't help thinking he might have turned out ok for us given more of a chance to adapt to the league.
Smyth looked good in that game. Doing the business should hopefully get him on Warbs' radar.

I know it's only a loan and he'll come back a better player, but he always looks so lively when he gets a chance. Even if he's only around to keep our other forwards on their toes, I think he was worth holding on to this season!

Jake Bowler. I know he is now an Everton player but he came on as sub for Hull last night. Not overly impressed in what I saw

R's duo complete loan movesBy West London Sport 02/09/2019 Bradford have signed QPR forward Aramide Oteh on loan for the rest of the season, while Osman Kakay has joined Partick Thistle on loan until January. West London Sport revealed on Monday morning that Oteh was set to join the Bantams and that Kakay could return to Scotland, having previously been on loan at Livingston. Oteh, who turns 21 next week, is well down the pecking order of strikers at Rangers. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Walsall, where he made four starts and scored one goal. Right-back Kakay, who recently turned 22, has made 12 first-team appearances for QPR, with six of them coming in the Championship. www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/football-qpr-aramide-oteh-bradford-city-move-confirmed-update-kakay-sept-2019

Seny Dieng stars in Doncaster Rovers winBy Simon Cheshire @simoncheshire10 GOALKEEPER Seny Dieng played the full 90 minutes for Doncaster Rovers on Saturday, as victory over Peterborough United saw them move up to seventh in Sky Bet League One. Victory for Rovers ended Peterborough’s seven-game undefeated run, with James Coopinger and Kieran Sadlier’s first half goals wrapping up victory for Doncaster. They face a daunting trip to early high flyers Coventry City next weekend. Striker Aramide Oteh played the final eight minutes in Bradford City’s 3-1 home win over Carlisle United, Oteh replaced goal scorer Harry Pritchard to help see out a vital victory for the Bantams. They head to Scunthorpe United next week. Neither Gilies Phillips or Paul Smyth featured for Wycombe Wanderers in their 1-0 win over Portsmouth on Saturday. Philips was an unused sub for the Chairboys, whilst Smyth is still side lined with an injury. Charlie Rowan was an unused substitute for Barnet in their in 4-2 defeat away to Halifax on Saturday, whilst Tyla Dickinson also didn’t feature for his work experience club Hendon FC, who were victorious over Deeping Rangers on the weekend. North of the border, Osman Kakay played the full 90 minutes in Partick Thistle’s 3-0 home defeat to Dunfermline. In addition to this Niko Hamalainen also played the full 90 away to Celtic, which his loan side lost 3-1 at Celtic Park. www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/loan-rangers-dieng-stars-in-victory/

Gotta wonder if Oteh is gonna make it as a professional. Struggled to make an impact at Walsall last season, warming the bench for Bradford this season. Shame because he seems to have all the attributes and has been very prolific at U18 and U23 level.

It makes me wonder if it is the work that is done by the coaches at QPR that makes these lads so good. As we have heard from Nahki this week, he is enjoying playing for an attacking, creative side and feels it will give lots of opportunities. Oteh had the likes of Chair, Eze, Tilt, Dalling, BOS, Smyth all playing alongside him in the U23's and now he just isn't getting the service.

It's a funny thing the step up from youth football to first team Esox. Some players take to it far better than expected, others that are world beaters at U18 level, just never transition into playing at first team level.
I had high Hope's for Oteh when he came through. I don't watch as many U23 games as you, but I keep an eye out. Oteh's record at that level is superb, and I've been told he scored plenty for Spurs within their youth set-up too. He looks big and strong for a lad of his age and seems to have everything you need as a centre forward. Just ain't happening for him though is it? If he doesn't get in the goals on this loan spell I suspect he'll be released in the summer.

I understand what you are saying Corbs but we had a very poor pre season wrt results whilst MW was getting his plans into operation. I would hate to give up on a 21 year old that showed so much promise, especially if Hugill has to go back, or WHU want him sold. He may make a better showing in the recent incarnations of the team. He may well never make it but in a settled U23 side he was the business.

Needs a run of games IMO. Bradford have got Donaldson and Vaughan up top who are more than decent at that level. Got to take his chances when he comes on as a sub which is always a tough ask.

As Corbs said though mate, he was first choice striker during pre-season and looked out of his depth. 2 loans in a row to sides well below us in the football league, and he can't get a start. I know we saw a bit of promise when he first came through, and his record at youth level is good, but at some stage we probably need to accept that Oteh will most likely find his level much lower down the leagues.
