Smyth and Chair both scored tonight in victories for their respective loan clubs. Oteh came on in the 87th minute after Walsall were 3-1 down at home fairly early in the 2nd half!!!?

Think Chair will be given few games next season under McLaren but not certain about Smyth. Personally think Smyth will be good playe for us but Steve don’t seem to rate him.

"After a low-key second half, Vigouroux went up for an injury-time corner and was caught out again when Chair lobbed him from inside his own half."

Christ, that has to be one of the worst bits of goalkeeping I’ve seen.
Well, that and his fluff right at the start. 😂
I can’t help you there Jeff, I’m afraid. Ask Stanley for instructions tomorrow. He’ll get his little red arrows out for you.

all of chairs goals for stevenage........ Why on earth did we loan this kid out? Agreed with the decisions to loan out most of those that have gone out this season, but this kid should be playing regularly here!

Agreed with the decisions to loan out most of those that have gone out this season, but this kid should be playing regularly here! You could argue he is showing what he can do and getting regular game time to do it. Exactly why they might have loaned him. I'm pretty sure we didn't think we'd get pulled into the relegation fight when we loaned them all out.

And that in itself is the issue CCJ. Our own arrogance biting us in the arse.
As I say, I was totally behind loaning most of the fringe players out. But Chair was very close to breaking into the first team. I also don't think it's any coincidence that the likes of Eze and Wells have gone totally off the boil since the January. Next to no competition for places. And it's human nature that you take your foot off the gas when there is no competition.
I'd really be interested to know if loaning these guys out was McClaren's decision, or whether he's had his hand forced.

There's nothing arrogant about us. Stay up was the goal and we've done that. Arrogance is the luxury of clubs that don't have to worry. Sending the youngsters out was a smart move preparing for next season.
Get them away from the pressure of having to perform and then get spat at by fans for not winning or being brilliant.
Give them at least half a season before they need to wipe phlegm from their faces.

To say there is no arrogance there would be totally untrue. There are some really big egos behind the scenes at QPR these days. As for my initial point, I think it is arrogance mate. To think that we could send so many players out and not struggle, even though we knew we had a transfer embargo. If not arrogance then certainly stupidity. I've lost count the amount of times in recent weeks I've said to myself, I wish we had Chair or Smyth to bring on right now.

No doubt the way those two are playing it would be nice to have them as options. They are both playing with the freedom of not having to stay at their loan clubs and we'll need them next season.
If you see arrogance behind the scenes heaven help us

I can see good reasons for both keepng them and letting them go out on loan.
I suppose the success of the decisions made will be determined by how much of a contribution they get to make next season. If it’s a big one, both in playing time and impact, then great, it was worth it.
Not having them around may well have limited our options since January, but as we were neither going up, nor down, I’m fairly happy to see them getting game time and experience of meaningful games.
I expect if they don’t come back performing up to standard, then a rather large group of people will be letting them know about it in no uncertain terms. 😄

No-one could have forseen the bad luck we had in that run that has undoubtedly led to a dip in confidence. We looked miles away from relegation at the beginning of January and given our financial situation and the fact we will be relying on these youngsters next season it still seems like a sound argument to me. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
