looked dreadful last night, especially in defence. Makes you think, it was only a few months ago when we were humiliated there. The step up to the Premiership is enormous

I thought they passed it about well going forward. Bit naive to think they could go play that way at Liverpool and get something out the game though.

It is a big step up, but an even bigger step to be playing the European Champions at home! Lambs to the slaughter first half. Thought the powers that be did something weird at the start of the second half to alter the space-time continuum in order to give Norwich a chance (obviously they pretended it was some kind of problem with the refs' headpieces). Shame, as I was looking forward to another 4 goals going into the carrot-crunchers' net. Have to admit they looked quite sharp second half though and Pukki showed he can do it at the highest level.

Strange one that Pukki fella. He was banging them in for Brøndby here in the Danish top flight, but I would never have thought he would reach the level he is currently at. And to think the 6 fingered bumpkins got him on a free...

The step up to the Premiership is enormous To be fair they were playing the 2nd best team in the country away from home where they haven't lost in almost a year All the more reason to keep things tight, at least for the first half. They were set up to play expansive football away from home at one of the 2 top sides in Europe, in front of the Sky TV cameras on the first game of the season. I admire their confidence but it was very naive. You just knew within minutes of kick off that it was gonna be a big defeat for them.

Norwich seem to have taken the route of not spending any money and accepting they will get relegated but securing their financial future.

They lost by less than Arsenal and Barcelona did last season (and plenty of others). Personally admire that they gave it a go because let's face it, they were always going to lose.

You never know though mate. Odd things can happen (red cards, individual errors etc.). My mindset would be to keep things tight for at least 45 mins and try not to give much away. If you want to throw caution to the wind, save that for the closing stages. I suppose the odds were always stacked against them winning, but Liverpool drew plenty of games they should have won last season. It's also worth bearing in mind the damage a drubbing can do to the confidence of a team. I'm sure Frank Lampard woke up this morning wishing he'd kept things tight at Old Trafford yesterday and walked away with a 1-0 defeat. Instead he tried to play them off the park, Chelsea weren't close to being good enough to do that, they've got thumped and the pressure is on him from weekend 1 of the season!

Norwich seem to have taken the route of not spending any money and accepting they will get relegated but securing their financial future. think thats the better route imo, like burnley or bournemouth. stick with the backbone of your squad and improve gradually. as we've seen with qpr and fulham wholesale changes don't work and can cause years of damage
