He looked very decent when he came on. Got himself forward and into couple of good positions.
Looked very comfortable on the ball and nice turn of pace
Really liked the look of him. Will be breathing down Rangels neck

Agreed thought he did well and gave us an outlet down the right. Thought Rangel was poor today compared to his standrd of last season so think Kane will make that position his soon enough.

Looks like a winger from that cameo. Had nothing to do defensively, mind. Very small build, too. Angel was very solid when they offered something first half. Let's see.

I thought he looked great when he came on, but as 77 alluded to, we only really saw him going forward. We were constantly on the attack when he came on so didnt get to see his defensive play. Still, I very much liked what I saw from him.

From great few debut performances he has looked little bit ropey in recent run outs

Needs a run of games but at the moment, Rangel is far better IMO

The sub didn't work. The intention was to give us more pace but we were far better with Angel on the pitch. Warbs will have noted that.
In the circumstances both Nahki and Angel would have been disappointed over being subbed.

Kane is a funny one. Looked a star in the making in his first couple of cameos. Has looked anything but in his last few appearances. Maybe just needs a bit of time to settle. I'm sure he'll be needed as the season goes on. Rangel is as old as the hills, and we don't really have anyone else to play there!

Thought Yiadom looked solid yesterday. We were in for him few years back qpr fan too afaik! kane has looked crap in his last few games, loses the ball too easily and doesn't work hard enough to get into space or support well enough.

His distribution last night was awful and his lack of defensive know how was highlighted by not following Baldock in for their 2nd goal.

His main asset is his pace. Could be a really dangerous option in attack but sadly, we always seem too slow to get the ball to him in dangerous areas. Several times last night, by the time we gave it to him he had a defender right in front of him.
Having said that, he was very sloppy. Either play to his strengths or don’t play him at all would be my approach.

His distribution last night was awful and his lack of defensive know how was highlighted by not following Baldock in for their 2nd goal. To be fair, Baldock was already in the box inbetween Amos and Leistner (I think) when the cross was put over. Kane was out marking the winger while Swift was completely unchallenged for the cross.

I'll support almost every Rangers player going (bar SWP) but Todd Kane is NOT a RB. Right midfield maybe but in defence? not for me

Been saying the same for weeks mate. The lad doesn't seem to know the basics when it comes to defending. He also gets caught out of position and/or the wrong side of his man often as a result of bombing forward without any regard for his defensive responsibilities.
I've actually got the hump that we're talking about this again. The penny should have dropped after the last 2 games. It's so easy for opposition sides at the moment. Neither full back can defend and any oponent who's done their homework know exactly where they can hurt us!

If he cannot defend who is trying to improve that side of his game?

Cameron is better at RB and that says it all.
Hate to say it but I'd ship Kane out ASAP

i thought he had an ok game today personally BUT before you string me up alongside him at the gallows i agree that he has been pretty pants for us. he just doesn't know what to do, makes runs when he shouldn't or does the opposite, loses his man far too easily and gets caught out.
its a shame as he was pretty good for hull last season but at this stage i'd rather give kakay a run

He was one of our better players today. He's inconsistent though. OK, going forward but limited as a defender.

Academy trained, so can trap a ball every which way you like, he has bags of pace, can cross at speed, but can't get his defensive positioning right, nor stand up to a winger and send them onto their weaker foot by showing them inside or out. And small too boot. Not looking good tbh.

A slower Cameron is a much safer option in that position, when he’s not needed in CM, or when Rangel isn’t fit. Kane should be 3rd choice.

Question powers that be need to ask is is there anymore they can get out of Kane and do we invest more time and effort in him at RB. If answer is no then next question is can he carve a role for himself in midfield, if answer is no again then needs moving on

Any idea what Hull fans thought of Kane defensively? Did he play as part of a flat back 4 there or wingback? Never noticed him before he came here tbh but he played a lot of games in his career so far at Blackburn etc

Never noticed him before he came here tbh but he played a lot of games in his career so far at Blackburn etc they liked him quite a bit. he was good for them last season and defo good enough for a top half championship side. i was pretty chuffed when we signed him and thought that under warbs he'd be a solid signing for us. from what we've seen we know that he's dynamic and likes to get forward, a modern day full back etc but its just not worked out for him so far.
