Todd Kane is an odd one. Hull decided not to try and sign him permanently after his loan spell. Curiously, Frank Lampard wanted him to sign an extension at Chelsea, and Derby also wanted him.
Clearly he's highly rated in some circles. I actually think he looks a decent player, he just isn't a defender!

Is he being asked to defend? seems like it's not a priority for our full backs? more like, get back if you can.

Probably not to be honest Brian. But I'm not even convinced he's that good a defender to start with. Probably suits a 3-5-2 much more than a 4-4-2.

kane is actually having a solid game, not spectacular but doing well. Agree. Had a decent game today I thought, particularly defensively.

Far better today but still moments which make you worry.
Got forward loads and linked up well with BOS

Got forward loads and linked up well with BOS he lost the ball a bit but no more than anyone else tbh. think he did an excellent job on the right with a few good tackles and interceptions and much better than wallace did on the left. gotta keep it up though as he's been underwhelming so far

I thought he did well today, and who knows the pedigree of sky punters. They may all be half-bred mongrels, but nevertheless they praised his defensive positioning on several occasions today. Well done that man formerly known as Chelsea twat...

Fair play to the lad. Yes he’s not the best right back we’ve had but he’s commitment was fucking 1st class. Just tried to keep it simple and he’s still a threat in the attacking half. He gets grief a lot and mostly justified but he did well today.

You have to bear in mind that he is one of quite a few players who had never played together in a team until last August. With ALL the squad having to learn to play a new system too I think MW and his team have performed minor miracles so far with the team's progress. There is obviously a lot more work to be done but a solid 7/10 for this season and hopefully we will still have the same coaching team in place for the next season or two.

You´ll only get away with that much positivity after a win esox. Next week they´ll all be useless twats 😂

Kane used to be our weakest link but has been decent last two games.

Much better yesterday. I'm still not convinced he's a natural defender, but he did well enough yesterday.

Warburton kind of player a defender who cannot defend. Great goal today

You know, I dont dislike Todd Kane as a footballer. He just isn't a defender. Should be playing on the wing.
Ditto Manning by the way.
Dunno why the trend these days is to pick full backs that can attack but can barely defend. No issues with an offensive full back but first and foremost, they must know how to defend.

I'll echo that, good going forward but can't defend to save his life.

If any of the QPR coaching staff happen to read this, just a suggestion. In training why don’t you practice with Todd to shape up as if he’s going to cross the ball and then knock it forward with his left (or right) tricking the opposition fullback and allowing Todd to run on and then put in a cross.

Coaching session 2: Try to force the attackers to the wide areas and NOT inside the central zones.

Some of the worst positional sense I’ve ever seen from a professional footballer. Can look good going forward but there’s no way on this planet hes a defender. Backs off and off and off and goal. Just goes walkabout and we constantly get done on his side. We need a proper right back and a proper left back. And someone to drive the midfield with pace.

To be fair to him, I thought he was going to cause Fulham to go down to 10 men with all their subs being used, when he repeatedly smacked their player on the head trying to cross the ball into their box. But for the life of me why didn’t he knock it by him, I could see he was going to jump to block the cross, on the T.V.
