Can't see why, if you must have VAR, you don't just give the managers one chance per game (maybe 2) to challenge a penalty decision or a goal and leave it at that.

I think VAR is causing more disruption, mayhem and dismay than before it came into use. Ball brushing a hand, a toenail offside, a puff of a boot swipe wafting past a leg in the penalty area, where do you draw the line? Intimidatory stares? Shirt untucked? Socks down? Distasteful tattoos? Bad haircuts?

Have been watching some Spanish stuff on satellite and VAR works for them. The clue is in the name FA - it's called video assistant not video overrule or video ref. The Spanish ref views the screen so it's still the same guy refereeing the match, the same guy who has seen the niggles and heard the verbal going on. Just a case of the blazers at the FA thinking they know better than those pesky foreign jonnies... They don't.

It was getting ridiculous though, with a fingertip playing you offside. It’s lucky Southgate’s playing career was before VAR, you’d just need to get him facing his own goal and your in.
