Think Tuesday's win was more important that today's would have been.

With you Timmy , i`m sure we wont go down ,and i know we certainly aint going up , so a decent cup run gets the buzz going . Pompey too , all good ,reckon the next match might pull in a bigger crowd too . I`m bang up for it !

Excellent start to the season to boost confidence for the long haul and a result today to stop our expectations getting too unrealistic. Always enjoy a cup run!

A good cup run will do me nicely this year spot on. are their three shitter teams than us in this league? yes. Will we be fighting for playoff positions? no Cup run will do me just fine.

I disagree. I think cup runs can cause the league form to suffer. Look at our FA Cup run earlier this year. In the league we were shocking during that run. I'd rather have won today than Tuesday.

This season seems to be different. The squad is made up of players who are all challenging for a place in the first team and are playing a system that all are familiar with. I think cup games this season will give players who aren't playing a chance to show what they can do and put pressure on those with the shirt to keep up their performances.

Spot on, it's a bit like running a proper club again.... at last.
