The one criticism we heard from fans of previous MW clubs was he was stubborn with selection and formation. I wonder if that's because he built his blueprint on the success he had at Brentford when he ultimately guided them to the 2015 Champs play-offs. Perhaps the thinking is if he's already got a successful formula then stick to your guns and no need to change.

I don't disagree and certainly nicer to watch, since then it has had mixed fortunes for him. There are games we can be open and expansive and games where we need to be abit more street wise.

we are defensively naive and will be proper cannon fodder for the better teams in this division if we don't get some steel into the side. BFG certainly provides steel. Spot on. As does Scowen and Ball (Rock on Tommy).

Not sure how we got on to Warbs out but that is ludicrous. From what I've seen, we play a decent style and have some fairly decent players BUT we are defensively naive and will be proper cannon fodder for the better teams in this division if we don't get some steel into the side. We currently don't have the money, or the opportunity to do anything other than use the squad we have. There is grit and steel in that squad, we're just not using it.

The playing out debate I’m not sure where this has come from as the back for in the past have been sold by many as ball players. People wanted Hall in holding MF under Ollie because he could play with ball, Manning when not getting a game was being sold as answer in midfield as allegedly he’s great passer, Barbet was ball playing CB at Brentford and brought in on this basis
But all of a sudden players who we previously have highlighted passing as one of their key attributes are not good enough to play out from the back
We’re jumping about here. The passing is not the issue, not capitalising on or possession and stupid mistakes are

Can’t remember the last time when watching every game I ended up thinking how well we played at times and how amazing some of our young players are.

That is exactly how I have been feeling after every game.

On the Sky Sports EFL highlights show they said that Wigan's away form is awful at the moment.
They had to say it, didnt they? 😂 We all know what's going to happen now.
