I don't know where you are getting the idea that Kelly should be given a chance over Lumley, I've seen every game Kelly has played and he is barely half as good as Joe. Lumley made a very bad mistake today which cost a goal but no-one is mentioning the way he dealt with BFG's fuck up which I thought was going to cost us a goal and the superb save he made in the second half to preserve our lead and the three points. Don't forget that this is a team full of kids, freebies & loanees that most people earmarked for a relegation battle. Instead we are seeing one of the best footballing sides we have ever had but are playing in a way which means we will concede goals. I feel we will be good enough for a top half finish but people are running away with the idea that because we look so great we will get into the playoffs; not going to happen until we start putting our chances away and I can't see it changing much from what we have seen all season.

It could be that we have to be patient; but his errors tend to result in too many goals and sometimes missed points. I`m not at all questioning the fact that we have a very promising team on the whole....

Bad mistake by Lummers but it would be crazy to drop him because of that.
I get the benefits from all this playing out from the back but it don't half invite needless pressure and costly mistakes.

Trying to put it into perspective; Hugill made as many mistakes (easy chances missed) against Luton as Lumley has all season. Unfortunately Joe is the last man and no-one seems to remember a missed goal opportunity as much as an error leading to a goal. The way we play also means it is likely to happen again before the season is out, it's the nature of the beast.

no-one seems to remember a missed goal opportunity as much as an error leading to a goal. I think they do, it's just that goalkeeping errors are more expensive, particularly this unforced one which was so sloppy and preventable. Joe is a level-headed young lad and you would have thought he will have learned from this however, and reduce them moving forward. Agree with you about Hugill and I actually predicted him having a poor game, following his #AskHugill interview during the week, as seems his early good form was in danger of becoming over-hyped.

Think only comparison to Lumley error is a striker missing one on the line. The chances Hugill missed Saturday were not even in same ball park as what Lumley done, so it’s bizarre comparison
Out of interest why we trying to justify and or defend Lumley error? It was shit, end of and he deserves criticism for it, but aside from that move on
